I am concerned as well. I wonder how well Blount will perform when he is the featured back.

I think it's a definite area of need in recruiting. But, I like our RB depth for this year. Most of that hinges on my belief that Crenshaw is under-rated. He is one of the players I've predicted to make a surprise impact this year.

I hope your right about crenshaw, I dont think he is bad but i dont think he is a break out player. Again i hope im wrong!

I hope your right about crenshaw, I dont think he is bad but i dont think he is a break out player. Again i hope im wrong!

I agree. I haven't seen anything out of Crenshaw that is worth getting excited about. I think he will be a serviceable backup but I don't see the break out player in him.

I really think Crenshaw will step up and get close to a 1000 yards, I think the big reason he hasn't been a factor is because he hasn't been healthy and he has had to play behind JJ and J Stew.

I agree. He showed a lot of promise in 2007 with his elusiveness and agility. I think Crenshaw is going to be the number 2 guy this year. The real concern, that has been mentioned already, is what happens if Blount goes down. We do not have a true number one RB then, if we have one already. Our success this year depends on a multi-headed running attack that finds cohesion early, an increase in the level in play of our Oline from this spring, and the continuation of the passing attack that was around at the end of last year.

All in all, Oregon's O will continue to roll as it has since Chip came aboard. It is another year when everyone asks questions about the offense but the real question is can our defense hold.

A lot of writers question how long Oregon can continue to be as productive as we have witnessed... The better question may be, "How many different ways can Chip Kelly tweak the offense to adjust for the personnel at hand?"

Just my opinion, but it seems Crenshaw can't break a tackle to save his life. I know that Stewart was an anomoly, but watching Crenshaw briefly step in for him was just short of painful. To be honest, I think Alston will give Crenshaw a run for his money. Hoping for the best either way though.

Thinking about this really makes me appreciate JJ more and more... I think since he played behind JStew for almost his whole career he never really got the credit he deserved, when was the last time we worried about depth at RB? Its been a while... JStew goes down? We got JJ... Now if LGB goes down, we got (insert unproven RB here)??????? I really hope someone can step up, someone usually does...

Look at last season, or even a few seasons back. Blount-Johnson, Stewart-Johnson, Smith-Morris, etc... Some of our best years have been with 2 solid backs that bring something different to the table.

If a player like James or Alston can pick it up and bring that speed/cutting factor in to the game, then we don't need Blount to be an every down back.

I'm much more concerned about next years RB depth chart. It looks like this...

1. James
2. Alston 2
3. ..........? Yikes!!!

I'm sure the coaches will do their best to bring in a really good JUCO RB for next year. Remember what our depth chart looked like before Blount came in?

I bet the Ducks take 3 RB's in this class, including a JUCO RB.
