If Pryor ever participates in the actual NFL combine (he probably won't, opting for private workouts instead), I doubt he would run under 4.5. I think Vince Young ran 4.58 leading up to his draft and that was on a fast track at the University of Texas, not the actual combine which times slower due to the more accurate electronic timing.

TP is good but he better get alot better throwin the ball or he wont be playin qb in the pros. JMO . Do 40 times have anything to do with winning records? What was Joeys 40 time? He had a pretty good win loss record at UO I think. Guess the times look good on paper but wins look better.

qb are not the only players to get there 40 timed^^^^ i do agree though for a qb a good arm big heart and smart between the ears is more important than a super fast 40 time..

I guess the thing i like about the 40 the most is i know i could never hit a 4.35 4.4 even in my hay day its cool to see people who can. Plus if you recruit a guy with a 4.4 4.5 even if it isn't exact you know he has a chance for that big play potential. if the guy is running in the 5 range you can bet he wont be taking it to the house... we all love to have that big play potential speed on our team dont we.

p.s. i know that fast 40 isnt everything but i think its something.

True...I can never remember Grants 40 time but the first time I saw it ...holy crap to be able to run that fast just once lol

I just thought the article was interesting and everyone would get a kick out of it. There is obviously some stock in 40 times or they wouldn't put so much time into measuring it. Maybe if it was measured with pads on, I would think it would be more accurate. My point is I was a sprinter in track so back in the day, I could have beaten many of the players in the 40. However, put some football pads on me and it wouldn't have been close, they would have dusted me.

I know it's only one tool, but it seems like .01 of a second is such a big deal when that advantage could be completely negated by strength, lateral speed, or even juke moves.

Of course I'm not a scout or talent evaluator so I could be completely waaaay off base.

I don't think the offense fits his skill-set there. But, I've read here and there that they are adjusting it moving forward. So, we'll see.

Still think that an established spread team would have been a better fit for him.
