It's up to the team to vote on his punishment for that portion of the incident. Fighting with a teammate is not cool and should be discussed amongst themselves. It's not up to the coach & the Pac-10 to interfere with that part of it. It's up to Blount & Embry to hash it out.

He was pulled out the stadium due to having words with the Broncos fans. Blount thought a fan was going to throw a chair at him, so he responded badly to them, hence being carted off.

What bothered me the most was seeing the Charles Manson look in his eyes....scary stuff...

Am I the only one here that has let my emotions get the best of me? I will admit that i have been pushed to the point of socking someone else in the face. I might add as well, the punch could have been a lot worse. It was a arm punch. He could have stepped into it, used his hips and shoulder, and knocked that dudes lips right off his face.
I guess I am saying that i think suspend him for the rest of the year is extreme. A 2-3 game suspension and some serious bonding with his teammates if they will have it is what this team needs. Of course this is just my opinion!

I want to change my vote, I originally had the 4-6 games marked, but please let the record show that I am now in the "kick him off the team permaneltly" camp.

I agree, when i saw him hit whoever that was 3-4 times with the old shove to the helmet trick it was clear he had lost all control. that bothered me as well way more than the punch.

What a mess after a disaster of a game! Blounts needs an indefinite suspension to make him think about what he did and make some life decisions and be back on the team, if he proves worthy, in maybe 4-5 games.

I still feel sick to my stomach about the whole thing!

If it was just him punching the BSU player then I'd say 1-3, but punching Embry and his reaction to the coaches restraining him are what really got me pissed at him. I'd say 4-6 weeks.

I originally voted 4-6 games but if this is part of the problems he has had in his history then this should be the last strike and he needs to be kicked off the team.. and the scholarship be taken away from him. I do not know what his history is but if this is part of it then this should be his last chance.

In thinking of a recommended punishment, I recall a few years ago Aaron Brooks of the basketball team punching a Washington player in the face (I think) during a game. I want to say the player sustained some facial injuries.

Different situations, but just curious if anyone remembers what Oregon's / the PAC-10's punishment was to Brooks?

That was the worst part, punching Embry in the face while he is trying to get you to calm down. All the other things are forgivable. Punching your own teamate is not. The look and expression on Embry's face was pure astonishment. I would not want to talk to Blount again if were Embry

Football is a violent game, people behave irrationally sometimes, especially when they are upset. A bad reaction to a bad situation, no one really got hurt, our team played incredibly bad, some frustration of epic proportions bubbled over, because football is so violent, tempers are bound to flare sometimes. The boise guy is not hurt and his season didn't get wrecked or something, bad move by blount, but more of a "don't do it again, ever" than "good semi- career"........ Support your team, I was awfully upset after the game, I can only imagine what a player that gained -5 yards for the game would feel when taunted, which provoked the reaction. LGB is a bad man, don't fk with him obv... He needs a major PR undertaking, but put the dude on the field and let him play, I'm good as long as he apologizes to HIS team... if aaron brooks only gets a game for decking applebee, shouldnt blount only get a game? i dunno, just a thought. yes, blount took it too far with the fans, but still. why couldnt they only suspend him for like 4 games? oh well its james time now.

hjpop, not an attack on you but I get so tired of hearing about pouting boosters. I say love the Ducks even through A bad game or go watch the Barkrats. I agree with you that this situation had to end the way it did. Chip had to, as a new coach, take control and show what kind of coach we can expect. If this had been someone like Pono Cam would anybody really be upset with the suspension? I for one expect consistancy from the coach no matter how talanted the player.
