In that case, we could just run a wildcat formation every play with the chance for a pass by taking out Costa, while with Costa in, you run a more balanced attack.

Any idea what is holding him out besides unspecified academic issues? He has a lot of experience and would definitely see the field before Barner or Shinaba (really, I love having an Asian on the team but Shinaba's abilities escape me...why is he still there if we NEVER see him and nothing from Scout Team makes headlines?)

As long as LMJ and Barner stay healthy we will be fine, but I hope Crenshaw can get healthy and Alston can get his academics in order.

Roster Expansion
FR RB Jordan Thompson Valencia, CA/Valencia
JR RB Andres Reed Medford, OR/College of the Siskiyous

#Other players have played at RB in high school#
-Lokombo- Ran for 1556 yards on 107 carries (14.54 avg/c) and 22 touchdowns and caught 37 passes for 728 yards in senior season
-Sam Doman- he passed for 1,100 yards and ran for 600 more as a senior
-Malachi Lewis-The Spartans’ career rushing record holder (3,740 yards) accumulated 1,406 yards and 23 TDs on the ground his senior year to go along with eight catches for 242 yards
Is this the same Reed from So. Medford (2003)? If so he redshirted 2003 @ Portland State, Played 2 @ the JC level, commited to OSU then backed out & played minor league w/ the So. Or. Renrgades. Just curious if it is the same. List is around 6ft & 200 lbs
Well, Andrus Reed isn't on the roster or listed in the statistics for College of the Siskiyous. He is listed as playing in half the games for the Southern Oregon Renegades last year; got 13 carries for 141 yards. Strange addition to the team, I doubt he would even be eligible to play in a game.

Team needs a big power back especially on short yardage situations, so Lokombo's numbers are worth consideration

Kelly said 3 RB's will play against Purdue. Crenshaw will get playing time along with LMJ and Barner.

He's out until his academic situation is sorted out, whatever it is.

A compelling week for Oregon at the running back position continued today as sophomore quarterback Darron Thomas got some work in the backfield.

Can't believe they are even considering putting DT in as an RB... crazy talk.

Keep his Red shirt going. Maybe a 2 Tight - end set or something out of the box.

James, Barner, and Crenshaw is fine for now. It sucks not to have that big punishing back anymore, but we'll adjust, I'm not overly worried about the RB situation.

I'm way more concerned with out overall team. QB play, OL play, and coaching are horrendous right now. WRs dropping balls doesn't help either.

BTW... Malachi Lewis from goducks: The Spartans’ career rushing record holder (3,740 yards) accumulated 1,406 yards and 23 TDs on the ground his senior year. (just in case?)
