Wasikowski needs to take a deep look at how he’s running things and evaluate the pitching situation if he ever wants to reach the CWS. I don’t know if he needs to make a change at pitching coach again or what but with awful pitching like this the ducks will never reach the CWS. It’s so frustrating to see so much work go to waste, not cause ducks are getting outplayed, but because we have that bad of a pitching staff. Surely the ducks can’t find pitchers who know how to throw over the plate, so what in the world is going on? Looking like it’s over after a horrible 9 run inning given up by sloppy and horrible pitching. Gotta feel for players like Aroz and Drew Smith who played great but their work is wasted by the pitchers, they deserved better. Same story as last year, great hitting is fun and all but not a recipe for winning in the postseason, you need good pitching to win postseason games.

9 runs on 2 hits. Oregon’s biggest opponent is their own pitching staff like it has been the last two seasons.

That may have just been the single worst inning in Oregon pitching history. Waz is going to have to answer some tough questions after tonight.

I watch those errant pitches and wondered how can anyone be this bad. That was pathetic. Walk after walk after walk and runs scored. I hope the coach has some prospects in mind because these pitchers are severely lacking in control. ugh

Season is over as Oregon drops game 2 15-9. If only their pitching this week was as good as last week. Somehow Waz and Hawksworth have to find a way to keep their pitchers healthy throughout the season and/or develop some more consistent pitchers so they have more depth in the postseason.

Did Waz say why he kept that guy in when he wasn't even coming close to the strike zone?

Didn't we lose our two top pitchers from last year that we were expecting to have this year in the offseason?

Only pitcher I know of that we lost for the entire season was Ayon but it looks like they were missing Freund, Mullan, and I think Austin Anderson much of the year as well. I know I saw both Freund and Mullan in arm slings on SR Night at PK Park. I do wonder why we didn't see Ian Umlandt at any point since he was great as the top midweek guy. Maybe he was injured too.

As a fan, which was harder to watch, the 7th inning against A & M, or the second half of the Alamo Bowl against TCU?

Stoffal left early as well, and that was a surprise. Hard to recruit around losing your Friday and Saturday starters, especially as late as they lost Ayon.

Not difficult to argue for Oregon being placed in the top 16 of college baseball in 2024.

Why would you ask such a horrible question? But the answer is easy to me, TCU.

Actually a great question from a very dark perspective. I’m 100x more a football fan than college baseball fan, but a bowl game vs a crack at the World Series makes it a close call.
