A DVR and an antenna is a one-time purchase. YouTube is free.
I am in SEC country, but most UO football games have been available free on OTA (you don't get Portland State or Hawaii, but the nets have been picking up most of the other games; Oregon is a brand, even out here). Is that going away with the new conference affiliation?

If anything, it's going to be easier to catch Oregon on OTA networks with the Big Ten having Fox, CBS, and NBC. It's the lower rung games on Big Ten Network and Peacock that people have to find but those will be much more readily available than they were on Pac-12 Network.

I'm wondering if that'll be necessary. From what I can tell sling with the sports package is the cheapest option for the big10 network. If l understand it right, Big10+ is for games that will not be televised, but there should be enough demand for Oregon that most, if not all, games will be televised somewhere

Yeah, I don't suspect it'll be needed for football, but I watch most, if not all, of their basketball games as well, and could see some of their non-conference games being on there. Figured it couldn't hurt to sign up for, just in case, as long as I remember to cancel before the year is up!

Fair point. I imagine there will be plenty of basketball games that'll be shown on there
