DB Daylen Austin to play this season

I cannot for the life of me figure out why this is the hill the Lane County DA is choosing to die on. Camera footage, evidence collected at the scene, toxicology of the victim and criminal history of the victim, Austin’s testimony, etc. Everything matches and points to him doing nothing wrong. Austin has no criminal record and by all accounts is a good human being. This reeks of a grandstanding DA.

I was really suprised the grand jury decided it should go forward.

Don’t quote me but I believe the phrase goes something like this:

A bad DA can get a Grand Jury to indict a P&J sandwich

Grand Juries are one of the most powerful tools that we as private citizens have, its a shame that people have such a poor understanding of them.
