Since the ACC champ is going one way or another, I think what it does is keeps alive the chances of two ACC teams. If two of Louisville, Clemson, and Miami run the table the rest of the way, they're getting in.

Lots of people debating whether it was a catch, but the only thing that matters is whether there was enough video evidence to overturn the call.
I did not see any such evidence.
Looked like the VT guy came down with the ball, had control of the ball with his butt on the ground, and a second later the Miami guy (who was out of bounds) punched it out. So it looked like a catch on replay. Don't know why the refs overturned it unless they were simply told to do so.
The play kind of reminded me of a catch by an Oregon player in our first Rose Bowl win against Wisconsin. He caught the ball in the endzone, and as he rolled over a Wisco player ripped it out, but it was easily ruled a catch because the Duck came down with it and had firm control. (It wasn't "surviving the ground" that caused the ball to come out, it was the opponent ripping at it after the fact.) That was a TD Oregon. This should have stayed as TD VT.

Oregon dropped in the polls after "struggling" against Boise State, who's likely going to the Playoff and Idaho, Oregon never trailed in those games. Against Virginia Tech, 2-2, Miami trailed for most of the game, often by double digits. But the narrative is, 'Miami found a way to win'. They sure did, a Replay Booth.
