Big Ten finishes the year with 3 teams in the top 5.

Not sure how Notre Dame gets #2 over us.

It's very lazy, with precedence, TCU finished No.2 after getting crushed 65-7 by Georgia. At least TCU didn't finish with 2 L's above a team with 1 and a win over the champion.

Nobody pays attention or cares about the final rankings, so I can't blame media members for not giving it much thought and just putting teams in the order where the lost in the playoff. At the end of the day, I couldn't tell you where Oregon finished any of the previous seasons, and it doesn't really impact anything, so I don't pay it much mind.

That's interesting. I wonder if they voted Oregon third to try to avoid claims like this. Oregon still has a great claim to the best resume in the country this year.

Yes, Oregon ran the regular season and beat Ohio State. Ohio State beat Tennessee, Oregon, Texas, and Notre Dame to win the championship. Anyone claiming Oregon should be ranked number one in the final polls should just be done with football. That's like saying the nfl team with the best record is automatically the champion.

Wow no co-champs since 2017 either.

Poor Husky fans, now their one claim to superiority is gone.

Happy for the 8 month break. Really soured on College Football after witnessing how the playoff turned out across the bracket -- from the lack of competitiveness to the awful seeding, it was useless.

....Except that is exactly how the champion in college football has been judged for over a century until recently. Oregon had one loss and beat three of the top 10 teams. Ohio State had two losses. When all of the 'Blue bloods' point to their historical championships over the decades, they cite resumes just like Oregon's this year.

I am not arguing that Oregon should be champion, but it's pretty crazy to be in 3rd after the season the Ducks had.
