Thats hilarious. I worked with a guy from IOWA for many years and he used to say that! GO DUCKS!!!SuperDuck wrote: Tue Nov 11, 2025 4:38 amI'm hoping these rainy games will prepare the Ducks in the event they have to play a playoff game in these conditions. That could be an advantage over many teams.greenyellow wrote: Mon Nov 10, 2025 6:19 pmCan't remember the last time Oregon played in three consecutive rainy games in one season. At least with the forecast on Friday, it doesn't appear there'll be much wind (gusts only getting to 12-15 MPH and sustained at 6 MPH) like there was for Wisconsin and Iowa.UOducksTK1 wrote: Mon Nov 10, 2025 4:12 pm Should be wet. This might be the wettest season I've ever seen for the Ducks.
I hope the Ducks stay focused this week after their emotional win over I.O.W.A. (Idiots Out Wandering Aimlessly). Their cheerleaders don't cheer, they graze.
Anyhow, I know the Gophers got blown out by Iowa, but they're still 6-3 overall and have a quality win over Nebraska.
Go Ducks!!!

Minnesota is a feast or famine defense, they look a lot like the ASU Todd Graham teams. They blitz on something like 40% of first downs. We are either going to score 20 or 60 in this game.

Iowa put up 41 points on only 274 yards of total offense and made 13 first downs. The IOWA offense scored 29 points and half of those were short field. Not a horrible performance by the Minnesota defense in that game.

The truly damning performance by Minnesota isn't the Iowa game, it's the Cal game. Cal isn't a dead body, but they handily beat Minnesota early in the year. This should be a similar result as the Rutgers game.

They absolutely should win, but Rutgers? We should dominate the Minnesota offense but, their defense isn't Rutgers bad. And the weather conditions will likely not be conducive to putting up +50. I would be pleased with something like 40-14. Wouldn't even mind being in the 30s if the injury statis is like it was last week.

Based on a new Twitter video from Jett Washington (which for some reason isn't embedding properly,) it looks like Dakorien Moore is back in full pads already. Could see Oregon hold him out this week so he's ready for USC.

Am I correct in seeing the forecast is going to cooperate? 52 degrees and no rain at kickoff?

Only a chance of intermittent rain so it'll mostly be dry.bdkipe wrote: Thu Nov 13, 2025 4:49 pm Am I correct in seeing the forecast is going to cooperate? 52 degrees and no rain at kickoff?

I just think that when game conditions aren't particularly wet/cold/windy that it favors the team with the clear edge in talent, really enabling that team to "let their hair down" and play their game, especially on offense. It now looks likely that Eugene is done with any rain (until Sunday I think), essentially meaning a dry field, plus basically no wind and remarkably mild mid November temps (perhaps staying above 50 the whole game). Hard to ask for anything better this time of year.

This Oregon team, like a lot of teams, seems to dial it up when they get disrespected, and play mediocre or poor when riding high. They murder Oklahoma State and then are ho hum against Northwestern. The peak of the season came after Penn State, which they followed up by losing to Indiana. They rout Rutgers and then struggle to score on Stanford. Now they are getting a lot of love for the Iowa win. Are they putting in the work this week to cover the Minnesota spread?

Wasn't the Northwestern game at like 9:00 A.M.? Golly, I wonder why the west coast team took a bit to get going in that one. They won by 20 on the road, but somehow that game is evidence of weakness.

As you stated, Minnesota's defense is better than Rutgers' but their offense is worse. They're comparable teams, despite the difference in record, so I expect another game where we stick backups in for a good portion of the 4th quarter.GrandpaDuck wrote: Thu Nov 13, 2025 12:59 pm They absolutely should win, but Rutgers?
