1980, is that you? You what? Oh, you want your post back.
At its core, your message hits at an interesting topic - the experience of D1 football players who identify as anything other than straight male. But to try to frame that conversation around a kid who isn’t gay or isn’t out based on his mannerisms is a 15-yard targeting penalty.
Yikes.

Not trying to anger anyone here, but can I point out the obvious?
So he transfers here, from Texas A&M, which is an excellent program, then gets injured, and is out for a year, then comes back and gets another mystery injury and no matter how much time goes by it seems he is never ready to play and I was almost confused. I mean, I have seen players tear their achilles and be back sooner then this kid, but no matter how much time goes by, he never seems ready to play.
So I have actually never seen the kid not in uniform until today. So sorry, not judging or nothing, but does anyone else think maybe he is just not adjusting to this level of football because he is gay? I mean, lets face it, a locker room of BIG 10 players is the top 1% of alpha males on the flipping planet, so I get if he is not adjusting. But the kid is a generational talent, but no matter where he goes it seems he can't play there.
I honestly think the kid can ball out, he is an excellent football player, but the more time goes by it seems he may never actually play another football game.
I don't think the responses in this thread have adequately put how wild this is. I don't think I could say how wild this take is. The amount of stupidity and ignorance involved to not only think that that is the case, but to care that that might be case is beyond words.

Ok, overreact much? Take a deep breath, it was simply an observation/speculation. It's been 427 days since the kids put on pads for a game. I don't think its unfair to speculate that maybe something else is going on. I apologize for questioning the extensive injury layoff. I will keep my observations to myself. GO DUCKS!!!

I don't think so. It's just an insane observation based on no underlying evidence.

Ya that’s a big, big stretch of speculation. Pretty sure he was our #1 guy going into the season. He also wanted to play with Dante.

The answer to the question is a player's perceived sexual orientation has nothing to do with anything regarding injuries.
