C'mon McGough, get us out of this jam!

McGough blowing it... 2 walks and a wild pitch, St Mary's up 3-2.

Another blown lead, all because of walks. I hope we start to play better when Serna comes back.

What's happened to McGough this season? He can't seem to hold any lead when he gets in.

Is Serna now our closer?
I know you didn't mean it that way - probably that Serna would ignite the offense to score so many runs we wouldn't need much help from the pen.
I guess McGoo can say goodbye to the closer role and to the watch lists for "Fireman of the Year," or whatever.
Dang, I had such high hopes for Scotty - great summer of work, etc. I know Coach H won't totally demote him to the end of the rotation, but it may be time to find another guy to close.

I'd let McGough close until Pac-10 season. He'll get it turned around.
I don't know how much Serna would have helped last night. It was 20 degrees at PK.

1-0 Oregon, bottom 8.
Hey, a successful bullpen inning! Boer goes out after 99 pitches with a man at first, and Porter Clayton gets St. Mary's to hit into a double play.
Boer was crazy good again today. 7.1 IP, 0 runs, 5 hits.
Offensively, we're just stuck in anti-clutch mode. That'll get better, but slumps are naturally frustrated when you're in one. We're getting on base, just can't bring 'em in, no matter what the situation. These things tend to snowball, people try to press to make up for past mistakes, etc. Once they get it turned around I expect the opposite to be true, the success will snowball. Doesn't help to have 4 freshmen in the line-up, but I digress.

Ducks lead 1-0 bottom of 8. Let's see if we can hold this one. I'm hoping we get more offense as the season goes along.

2-0! Finally, a hit with a RISP. Pizza breaks the streak.

Ducks win 3-0. Good bounce back from the 'pen.

Love our 1-2 punch we have going with Anderson and Boer. They are going to give us leads most of the time before we start using our bullpen.

i'm new to college baseball. is it normal for a top 15 team to drop three games like that to start the season? is it like mlb where even good teams don't win a high percentage of games?
