I like them, but have to disagree with several of the posters in one area. Thank god there are no more yellow pant or lids. Those were hideous.

It would have been nice if they incorporated a little more green and yellow in our black and steel jerseys.DmoneyDuck wrote:The more I think about it, the more I really am not fond of the steel. No, not because it looks bad, but because it's not one of our freaking colors.
This is the UofO and our colors are yellow and green, not green with steel and black with a hint of yellow.
I could really care less if the "kids like them", and I am not much of a traditionalist, but the lack of yellow really irks me.
Ugh, hopefully we get it right the next time around and last time I checked, kids don't come to a school b/c of "cool unis", then come for playing time, location, and a winning tradition.

The yellow helmets were no doubt a fail. However, the yellow pants were slick! And we also played very well whenever we wore them.wlduck wrote:I like them, but have to disagree with several of the posters in one area. Thank god there are no more yellow pant or lids. Those were hideous.

I wonder if they're going to repaint the green lids as they don't match the new green combo that is a more matte green with more grey in it. I know they had to alter the green uni so they can use the grey pants, but the lids don't quite match. I know, being picky!!!! It's really nothing to even mention because it's a silly detail.

Re: New Uniforms!!!
Please bear with me as this is the first time that I have posted on this web site. I may have a different take on the new uniforms and would like to see if anyone else agrees with me.
My impression of the new uniforms is that they are not designed around green, white or black combinations. I think that the common thread among them all is the steel color. It appears to me that these uniforms are much more interchangable and complimentary than the last generation.
I can picture any combination of the new uniforms working well together no matter what the combination. The previous uniforms had in common the diamond plating, but the various jersy, pants, lids, were for the most part contrasting rather than complimentary.
I think that the new duds are very unique but at the same time very "classy" looking.

Another thing that people need to realize is that as long as we have the players designing them, the uniforms will move farther away from the "Green & Gold". These kids weren't raised on the Ducks & most have little knowledge of our tradition. They just know what's trendy & looks good and thats exactly what our uniforms will be from here on out.

Re: New Uniforms!!!
Absolutely agree. The green has been matted with more grey in order to utilize the steel pants. The jerseys of yore would not match the steel pants, so they had to change the green up. You are correct that they are classy and I love having the additional color (steel). It gives more options for marketing and everyone knows that pink goes really well with grey!!!! Sorry, girl comment.jBeavertonduck wrote:Please bear with me as this is the first time that I have posted on this web site. Actually an interesting point since the rest of the sports will eventually follow the football lead in school colors including the female sports. A number of schools have used pink (especially in support of the fight against breast cancer, WSU used pink jerseys; LSU has used pink) this would make an acceptable tie in to the current scheme and perhaps a recruiting tie-in if they wanted to pursue it.

You're so right Greydrake. It softens the grey areas (sorry for the pun) about the typical perception of "male only" sports. There are some women (myself included) that absolutely love football and used to be on the outside of the fence. Now, sports minds have changed their tack and are more inclusive of us as fans. I like being included in the boys club and marketing direct to me, especially when they make specific sportswear that has been tested on the battlefield and I can reap the benefits (especially cycling wear). It's good that women athletes are valued just as much as the men.
