I didn't see the second half. What changed with Oregon defense? Was it as simple as getting some 3rd down stops?

Agreed, plus the next three games should be similar quality as OSU, in fact I think OSU would beat UCLA, who I think is the worst team in the B1G. Michigan State looks to be improving so that won’t be a cakewalk but it’s in Autzen, and Purdue lost 66-7 to Notre Dame today and doesn’t look too good, plus they play at Oregon State next week, that’ll be one I’ll be paying attention to. So those three opponents are great ones to continue to get into rhythm before Ohio State.

Schedule isn't looking daunting. In the pac-12, there were always dangerous teams even if they were flawed. Road games at Purdue and Wisconsin are no Arizona and Arizona State.

Agreed, but I’d pump the brakes on Whisky. Camp Randall is a tough place to play, and I wouldn’t put UO (even with the Civil War win today) on the same level as what Bama did to them today. I’m making little predictions on new BIG teams until we actually get in the mix. We’ve seen one good game from the Ducks. I need to see more.

The Bama blowout was in part because van dyke got hurt early. He was looking pretty good before the injury. I think that's a much closer game if van dyke doesn't get hurt

Bassa tweaked an ankle on the second or third play in the first game, IIRC.

I think Boise State would beat Wisconsin in Camp Randall right now. Zero hyperbole. They've struggled against inferior opponents so today's drubbing is just the latest sign of a bad team. Purdue's score against Notre Dame is embarassing. Michigan will be tough on the road even if they're a flawed team, and a terrible UCLA team is our fourth conference road game.

What a relief it was to finally see the offense clicking on all cylinders today but it was concerning how the defense struggled containing an offense that couldn't throw the ball 10 yards past the LOS. Sort of disappointed to see the bye week coming with things working well but they need the time off to rest after a physical fall camp and first three games.

@Michigan and vs Ohio State are the biggest two games still. And Michigan has no QB right now.

If Van Dyke is out for year, then road game against Wisconsin just got easier.

After that, we should be favored in every other game by 2 scores.

If we stay healthy, we should finish with no more than 2 loses.

Worth mentioning that the beavs got really lucky on their 2nd scoring drive. Boettcher pretty much helped the RB catch the ball that was initially ruled incomplete. Not his fault but that type of a fluky thing kept that 2nd scoring drive alive.

In general the ability for the beavers to steadily gain 2-5 yards per run play in the first half was frustrating. Maybe I had too high of expectations going into the season but I thought the two interior DL transfers were supposed to be game changers, and we have talented 2nd year DE/edge players + Burch.

We might be in trouble against Big 10 teams that have mobile QB's? Not sure if that's popular in the BIG.

It looked like Jacobs played a lot more in the second half too. First half was mostly Boettcher and Jackson and they got lost quite a bit it looked like, but when Jacobs was playing it seemed to settle down the LB play a bit. I’m optimistic with the bye Jacobs and Bassa gets healthy and the LB play improves.
