Taggart's offense worked when it had a starting QB like Herbert running it. I'd take that offense over what they're currently doing.QuackininBama wrote: Sat Oct 24, 2026 3:17 pmI just disagree. No, you do not kick the FG because of, math, you score the TD, they play defense and score another touchdown. The "math" is what had killed Oregon all year long. They only play to do EXACTLY enough to win, they have no killer instinct at all. Dan needs to tear the entire offense down and start over. Worst offense I have seen since Taggart.greenyellow wrote: Sat Oct 24, 2026 3:05 pmBecause they needed a FG, TD, and 2-point conversion to tie it. Hurych just couldn't hit today from over 40 yards, which made Lanning's strategy too risky.

What makes this frustrating to all of us is the fact that we had running plays that were gashing them.
Other than another mind-numbingly poor run fit by Koi P. and that tipped-by-Finney-quasi-TD, the D played fine. Take that run away and Illinois doesn’t even have 250 yards.
Plays were there.
Despite having 4 of the Top 5 wide receivers out, there were things that were working and we easily could have managed this into a win.
I am right there with you.
What I will also say is:
The most frustrated person in the world at this is Dan Lanning. I promise you. This season has taken an absolute toll on him. No one cares more than he does.
That being said, the lessons he is learning this year are going to pay dividends down the road, in a big way.

I feel like play calling should either play to the team strengths or take advantage of the opponents weaknesses. So far Mehsses’ plays seem to be aimed towards showing how smart he is instead of solid game execution.

Dan needs to take a cold shower, or jump in an unheated swimming pool, or have someone give him a good, hard slap -- whatever it takes to snap him into reality. The most frustrated person in the world at this is Dan Lanning. I promise you. This season has taken an absolute toll on him. No one cares more than he does.
Then he needs to fire Coach Meh ASAP. Every minute he doesn't is a waste.
Turning the page right now is the only way to salvage anything meaningful from what's left of the season.
This dude makes millions of dollars to make tough decisions. During my journalism days, I had to talk with parents whose kids were just murdered, or people who lost their spouses in horrific accidents, or people who'd lost their homes, their jobs, their savings, etc. All Dan Lanning has to do is call Meh into his office and fire him. Meh will get a buyout of like $1.2 million, nobody's dying, the sun will still come up tomorrow. Just sack up and do it already.
Willie Taggart is a dick.

Rumors that Dante told the team before the game that he’s sitting the rest of the season and going pro, which could explain the emotions.

Don't even get me going on Dante, who is frankly, a coward. He could have suited up and played football, which last I checked, is what he was paid a cool seven MILLION DOLLARS to play this year, meanwhile he is wandering around the sidelines in sunglasses watching the entire season fall apart.OregonFan4Life wrote: Sat Oct 24, 2026 5:07 pm Rumors that Dante told the team before the game that he’s sitting the rest of the season and going pro, which could explain the emotions.

Aside from that, I have no opinions on Dante.

With this OL and OC I don’t blame him. He has nothing to gain - already has his paycheck.OregonFan4Life wrote: Sat Oct 24, 2026 5:07 pm Rumors that Dante told the team before the game that he’s sitting the rest of the season and going pro, which could explain the emotions.

1. Dante Moore gets paid even though he has given up on the season or however one wants to word it?
2. Will this team persevere or give up?
3. Be done with Mehringer tonight.

I say, great he isn’t playing another game. He may get us to possibly a better bowl game (har har), so who cares? Gut the team of players that quit, bring on younger players to get some experience, and for god’s sake, GET RID OF THE OFFENSIVE STAFF THAT YOU HIRED. If Lanning doesn’t have the sack to admit his mistakes, and start anew, he shouldn’t be long for the door himself. Lanning made his bed, it’s up to him to fix it. Start NOW! And for heaven’s sake, please bring in the most coveted, and EXPERIENCED coordinator you can. Oregon football isn’t a toy to play with. You actually have many considerations to take into account. Oregon football isn’t a testing ground, especially with all the donor’s money they wasted this year. Shameful. No more f*cking around, no more excuses.

Again with this..do you have inside information that indicates that he’s healthy and choosing not to play? If so, please share with the rest of the college football world. If this turns out to be the case, your opinion is by all means reasonable. But players sit out extended lengths of time with concussions. Effects can be known to last for weeks, if not months. If Dante is still in concussion protocol and not cleared by the Neurologist in charge, it’s unconscionable to me that someone would slander the name of an athlete potentially suffering the effects of a brain injury.QuackininBama wrote: Sat Oct 24, 2026 5:11 pmDon't even get me going on Dante, who is frankly, a coward. Again, if he’s healthy enough to play and is just looking out for himself, feel free to trash his decision as selfish. But after seeing the injury he suffered, I just don’t understand how you’re so willing to make this assumption.

According to multiple posters on X and the pay sites, they said Dante's grandmother was telling people that Dante wasn't cleared by neurologists for this week's game. This is definitely a medical decision versus a player decision. If it was up to Dante, he likely would be playing by now.
