Does bring up the natural question, have people figured out ways to attack the "mint" front; and, if so, does Dan have a pivot?
Georgia, to my eyes somewhat surprisingly given their roster, has looked pretty pedestrian lately. It looked fine with NFL DTs and LBs; but, even so now, teams have had more success attacking it.
The portal provided pretty solid DTs for Oregon; but, except for maybe Dye (and I guess too Joe Walker and Noah Sewell), the Ducks haven't really had a lot of LB talent in about a decade. I don't know the current roster make-up has a lot of young grand-slams at LB (maybe but maybe more of the same). Without the LBs, the scheme seems tough. I would do safeties too, since there are 3 on the field most of the time, several years not landing and developing much (just portal in, portal in, guys not spending years in the system).

Can we please drop the fire Stein narrative? I get emotions are raw after a loss. Sometimes you have bad days. We had a bad day. Knowles and Chip can coach and their roster is littered with NFL Players. Players that were pissed off and wanted revenge not just on us, but on the world after losing to Michigan. Dan just said it best in the postgame “sometimes it is not your day. It wasn’t our day. No complaints from us.”

I think it would make quite a bit of difference. Oregon was competitive once they shook the rest off. Unfortunately, they had dug themselves too deep of a hole by then.

This team starts slow. We saw that at the beginning of the season where we needed some games to get everyone on the same page. Timing and feels of the game is tough to turn on like an on/off switch.
Ohio states seeding was perfect for this playoff format. The 5-8 seed teams that dont need to play in conf championship week, essentially also get 3weeks off (same as 1-4 seed bye week teams) and get a first round home game against cupcakes. That allows their players and coaches to get back on the same page. Its difficult to simulate a game day in practice. Thats a big advantage of a first round cupcake at home and also being able to rest their players in the second half of blowout games to reduced the risk of injury.

Who were the players that were sick and the severity?
Were OSU players also affected by the flu bug?
What happen to Evan Stewart?

See my post above. How do you even fathom ZERO net rushing yards? In ANY game? Ducks got out-coached and outplayed. Time off should have been to their advantage, not the other way around. With the goggles that the coaching staff focused on, they were going to get run over regardless of time off.

Looks like Stewart tweaked his back shortly after the Big 10 CG and today was really his first time trying to give it a full-go. Sucks that injuries zapped Oregon's receiver corps before a game against Ohio State once again.

I do think that it may be time for Oregon to start adding some of the formations and plays that other teams are using to get their WRs and TEs so open while Oregon struggles doing so.

Game Thoughts ... where do I even begin?
- Vibes were off once I saw the unis. Why replicate a uniform we lost in (2010 Rose Bowl)?
- Both lines failed to show up, very similar to the CGG against Washington last year. You can talk DG's height or the play-calling all you want, but if you can't protect your QB or pressure theirs, it's blouses. THAT was the game right there.
- The play-calling was poor on offense however. Ohio State was BEGGING us to run and gave up intermediate throws but we didn't take advantage.
- Really not sure what else Tosh could have done. Penn State game showed our weakness at LB and S and, like last year against Washington, Ohio State has the one player who can expose us. We took some poor angles in the run game and just do not have the ball hawks in the backfield to take away those deep balls.
- Will we ever figure out how to utilize Kenyon Sadiq?
- The system hosed Oregon. It was out of our control, but it's still frustrating to go 13-0 and get paired up with the only team Vegas would have favored over us in the Quarterfinals. It will be equally frustrating to see if changed next year.
- The calendar needs to be fixed. We talk the Portal timing but taking a month off in-between games throws a major wrench into our team's rhythm whereas Ohio State played a little over a week ago. It's not surprising teams with a bye have no won yet this playoff.

This was one of those games I turned off after a couple of possessions. I had a strong feeling Oregon was going to lose after watching Ohio State's O-line be so effective in pass protection vs Tennessee. For two seasons in a row, Oregon's season has been ended by a team with multiple elite receivers that the Duck secondary had no answer for. At some point, these highly-rated DB's Lanning has been signing are going to have to start panning out. Patchwork transfers clearly aren't going to cut it against the elite teams. Multiple posts in this thread blaming Tosh for something I view more as a Jimmys and Joes problem. Eventually, Ohio State coaching was going to figure out how to use their advantage at receiver. Took them until the game vs. the Volunteers to get it.
I see several mentions of Evan Stewart being missing, and I just wanted to point out that he had no catches vs Penn State either, so whatever the issue is may have been during or before that game. Reminds me of when the Ducks lost starting wideouts Allen and Carrington right before playing Ohio State the last time in the playoffs.It would be nice to face the Buckeyes with a full complement of healthy receivers just once in the postseason.
At least the margin wasn't as big as with Tennessee.

Not only did out lines not show up, but Ohio State’s OL brought their A game! No sacks and their running attack was super steady.

A bit of a gut punch, but hey, no questions the staff did a tremendous job this year. I bet they learn a big lesson from this.
