Still, it makes me wonder if some of the guys may have lost some faith in the coaching staff after the beatdowns they received vs Ohio State last year and Indiana last week. It's one thing to lose a game if you're 13-0 or 13-1, but to get blown out by 20+ and 30+ points may cause some doubt. This is just pure speculation. I'm just thinking out loud and could be completely wrong.

Matt Prehm from Autzen Audibles said that was the toughest locker room he’s ever been in after the Peach Bowl and SportsChat503 said some of the families of players were upset with the coaching staff after the game. Who knows if it’s playing a factor but I do think it’s possible that there are a few guys that wouldn’t have transferred if they didn’t get blown out in the Peach Bowl.

I think overall that's not the issue. Ohio State been hit harder than us, and just won it all last year.

The coaching staff sells these players on cult-like buy in and brotherhood then is halfway out the door in the biggest games of their lives. Literally the moments they’ve worked their entire lives for, their coaches are checked out. I would imagine there’s plenty of frustration and disenchantment amongst players and their families.
You could make an argument that Stein screwed not just Moore but the entire team with that lazy call to start the game.

You're probably right. The changes at Coordinator on both sides could be a stronger factor. Ohio State already lost their OC, and with 9 openings in the NFL now, Matt Patricia could be a name mentioned as a candidate for one of those jobs, as well.

I don't think both coaches were checked out. The defense never had a chance given how our offense couldn't stay on the field and constantly put the D in terrible positions. The bigger problem was that Stein was never cut out for real game planning, and without his RBs he was basically a two-legged chair.
I'm sure players were upset, but I'm guessing it was mostly limited to those who were already frustrated with their roles on the team. Most of the starters appear to be staying.

I think it’s probably a combination of the two. I think I read somewhere that both stein and tosh weren’t in Eugene for prep until Wednesday. They were for sure not 100% locked in for the game. With how hot UK was in the portal, it appears stein probably spent more time focusing on his new team than bowl game prep.

While it sucks that they received promotions, I commend both Tosh and Stein for sticking it out to what seems to be the best that they could do. Splitting duties was harder for them than simply jumping to the new position.

Not sure how much of an Oregon target he was, but Husan Longstreet committed to LSU where the only chance he'll start is if Sam Leavitt doesn't recover from his injury in time for the season.

He is on the smaller side, even though he appears to be really dynamic with the ball in his hands. Time will tell but something tells me he might back in the portal next year.
