That still is not adding up. Either coming back from a knee injury is bad or it's not. In McGahee's case, they didn't even have evidence that he could come back or stay healthy. JJ had multiple huge running games in a 1200 yard, 13 TD season after he came back from the injury. If it was worth the chance on McGahee because he was so good, it was worth the chance with JJ to take him in a late round, over some of the less proven backs taken.

Stephens-Howling? 5'7", 180 lbs., 4.1 YPC, just over 300 yards per season over the last two years...
Rashad Jennings? Good numbers... in I-AA, against defenders that couldn't make I-A.
Fui Vakapuna? Didn't break 300 yards in last two years.
Javarris Williams? Good numbers... against who? Jackson State and Austin Peay? Seriously? I'm sure that Austin Peay is loaded with guys similar to Troy Polamalu and Dwight Freeney.
Chris Ogbannaya? Yeah. He accumulated a whopping 597 total yards during his entire career.
Bernard Scott? Who knows? ESPN doesn't appear to even have stats on the kid. Probably because they were too high to count. ;)

Jeremiah Johnson? 1200 yards in 2008 against D1 opponents. 6.5 YPC on 349 carries. 30 TD's.

I'm not saying that any of the players picked won't turn out to be good players. They just don't have the body of evidence available to show that they have the same kind of potential that JJ does. I'm also not saying that JJ was a top 3 back. But, he certainly proved his worth on the field enough to be taken in a later round, as projected by most analysts for months.

The fact is, these decisions are made by a relative few people who have all kinds of motivations that we may not even be aware of. JJ not getting drafted doesn't have to have some rational explanation like he was too slow or had injury concerns. It's not like GMs and coaches all get together and have a committee about it. Sometimes, often times actually, they make bad decisions and their top picks are duds and undrafted players turn out to be studs.

Again, Graham Harrell not getting drafted while 5-6 losing, non-productive, injury-troubled QBs do... Nothing more needs to be said about the moronism floating around in NFL draft logic.
