I think he was primarily brought in to recruit so we don't lose any momentum with recruiting and he must have been the best of the six that Kelly interviewed. I also believe Kelly will continue to call plays through this football season and Helfrich will be the QB coach. As long as he does well he will stay but I am sure this is kind of a trial deal and if he doesn't do well with recruiting and coaching the Ducks will be bringing in someone else. The Ducks are going to hit the recruiting trail hard and Kelly is only allowed so many visits so the Ducks didn't want to be short handed. Also, maybe he hasn't had a lot of success at Colorado because of the system and he may thrive at Oregon, similar to Ludwig at Oregon and Utah, different system different results, Crowton not too good of a head coach, OK as Oregon's coordinator and a lot better in a different system with great talent at LSU. Oregon has some really good talent now and Colorado only had a few top talent guys. We shall see, but I am happy to have another guy helping with recruiting and I am sure Kelly won't accept mediocre coaching/recruiting.
