If he hadn't gone all Ron Artest after the punch, I would say 2-3 games. But the way he acted after the punch I will be ok with whatever punishment he gets, including if he's kicked off the team. Really the punch didn't bother me a ton, yes it was stupid and should not of happened, but fighting with your own team mates and having to have the cops pull you off the field is just stupid. But I also think the BSU player should be suspended for 2 games for inciting the whole thing. Really both players where way out of line and should both be held responsible.

You can blame the punch on Hout for encouraging it, but going after a fan is unacceptable. there's a reason you're on the field and they're not...you're better than them. You got your punch in, just keep walking. I was really disappointed with everything that happened after, shoving his teammates and coach frost and the police. If he had stayed with the punch: 3-4 games. But he should not dawn an oregon uniform for the rest of his career.

LeGarrette said that the fan was going to throw a chair at him which has been confirmed by others at the game. The fans were on field level towards the locker room and I tend to believe the kid. I also read witnesses say that fans used the "n" word at him.

I agree with the decision but I think there should be a clause. That if he repairs his relationship with his teammates, does go to class, and stays in shape if not better shape we could reevaluate say in October after the bye week.

If some of the things coming out about what Hout said about family and the stuff by the fans. I would make that public and put pressure on Boise St to man up and do something for their part in this.

The only thing that bothers me is if this decision was made by pressure from the owners...opps sorry are rich donors. I agree with you Duck55, I am sick of the boner donors and their entitlement swagger. Show up in the third quarter and then you can begin to talk. Their concerns for their own reputations influenced this decision not what was best for Blount and the team.

I am fine witht the season long ban, BUT if some of the rumors about what was said to him by Hout and the fans are true I think it should be made public ASAP and Blount should be given a chance to earn his way back onto the team this year.

Why is no one printing what was said to Blount? Several reliable sources have indicated the BS player said, "Say Hi to your aunt." Blount's aunt died several weeks ago and he was enroute but missed a last conversation. She was a vital part of his life. It doesn't excuse his behavior but one wonders why Chris Peterson can't "step up" if this is true and do more than make his player run steps.

I suggest people try to check out this information if they have a way to do so.

In the meantime. . . time to get back to the reality of Purdue.

Fact of the matter is, how did he get into each step of this situation.

He got taunted because he started un-needed smack talking before the game...so he hit the kid for saying something...

He pushed a teammate (hit) because they were trying to stop him from being an idiot after hitting another player...

He had a fan threaten him from the stands because he was walking around the field having security, couches and police try to walk him to the tunnel. He would not go to the tunnel because he was still throwing a fit. Had he just gone to the tunnel the fan could not have had access to him.

He pushed police, couches and sucurity once a gain as they had to restrain him because he started going into the stands at a fan.

Prevailing common factor, he put himself in each of the situations by his own bad decision. Each and every time he had a decision to do the right thing or the wrong thing. EACH time he chose the wrong decision. THAT is the problem that he has, and making bad decisions is something that he has proven to be a commonplace issue for him. At what point do we pull the trigger on him? Do we wait until he gets taunted and takes the player to the ground and pounds on him until the guy cant breathe and is permanently damanged? He makes bad decisions, and cannot conttrol his own behavior. He needed to be shown the door.

Provoking him caused the incident, even more so reason to lift suspension...

Football is a violent game, people behave irrationally sometimes, especially when they are upset. A bad reaction to a bad situation, no one really got hurt, our team played incredibly bad, some frustration of epic proportions bubbled over, because football is so violent, tempers are bound to flare sometimes. The boise guy is not hurt and his season didn't get wrecked or something, bad move by blount, but more of a "don't do it again, ever" than have a "good semi- career" its over........ Support your team, I was awfully upset after the game, I can only imagine what a player that gained -5 yards for the game would feel when taunted, which provoked the reaction. LGB is a bad man, don't fk with him obv... He needs a major PR undertaking, but put the dude on the field and let him play, I'm good as long as he apologizes to HIS team... F Boise/talking heads on sports shows/people that prefer his career ends.
