However, let’s not forget that 20 years ago, Bill Musgrave and Derek Loville were recruited to Oregon with the promise that Autzen would have a dome during their careers. Best not to get too caught up in promises made to recruits.

IINM the dome was going to be made of Huge wooden beams and would be open all around the bottom except for the support beams. Does anyone have a picture of the drawings made for that? Also does anyone have a drawing of what Autzen would look like after the second expansion? Thanks.

Common sense would suggest that the Athletic Department would study an expansion of Autzen. BUT...there are many other projects that are more pressing and the academic side and detractors of funds spent on athletics would be resoundingly against an expansion.

Last week the RG had an article about an indoor track facility. It is likely that after the Arena is complete it will be the highest athletic priority. P Knight is probably a potential donor for that project since at heart he is a track guy. It would attract national indoor championships and Nike might also want to be involved. Texas A&M just opened their new facilty. The RG stated that one on the west coast would allow the Nationals to rotate East, Midwest, and West....first west coast university with an indoor track get the National Indoor evey three year...Track Town would seem to be the place. It could dramatical improve Oregon's Track team since sprinter could train indoor during the winter. With top sprinters and our distance and field strengths we could begin to be a serious NC contender every year.

Ultimatley university bonding capacity, donor funding, and the economy in Oregon will decide. These projects are all pressing academic / campus needs.

2. East campus housing ( 500-600 beds + dining )
3. Architecture Building
4. Renovation - reuse of Mac Court
5. Science buildings, maybe 2
