Geez Christ, hire a damn WR coach. I don't understand why we would fire someone at the peak of recruiting season and just wait a month to hire a new one. Same goes for DL.

Amen brother. I can understand taking your time to find the right guys but that was my problem with letting the news out when they did........ouch. That being said I think they did it for the coaches. I hope they did it when they did to give them ample time to try and find jobs. Well that's a guess anyways.

From what i see, Coaches seem not to be in hurry to hire anyone now. It seem CK is taking his time and try to find the right person to take any of postion under CK, he prolly want to find someone who will stay through CK contract. Other thing is Im not worried about losing Wheaton and phillps to Beavers. We will have someone that make us Happy and forget about who we lose due to admission/not hiring coaches/distance and some more.

lol @ everyone freaking out.. I'm sorry, but would Phillip or Wheaton really help out our team that much? The answer is no, and with our depth at WR, Wheaton may not have seen valuable minutes til his junior year. And our OL has some of the best talent I've ever seen.

IMO losing a guy like Leon hurts a lot more. But even that, we got lots of talent on this squad already.

I think the biggest reason people hate to see Wheaton go to OSU is because of what Kenny did here. Otherwise, no one would care. It bothers me somewhat, but when we play against him, I can't wait to give him some Autzen magic and make him regret going to OSewe.

Anyway, mops mentioned this, but the main reason we are missing out on so many WRs is because of the firing of Pflugrad.

1 more thing, look at our 2010 class. Thanks.

One of the Mods from DSA edited the interview notes from Boyd tonight per one of their guys. He said the quotes from Boyd don't look good. Talked a lot about how far Oregon is and how quarterbacks from our system don't adjust well to NFL. That's all I know. Nothing inside, just what I read from their most accurate Mod.

Hmm, well Boyd should know this, IF we didnt have CK in 07. DIXON wouldnt be in NFL Period, When CK came, BAM Dixon played like he never did in his 3 year in ducks uniform. It turn out Dixon is still in NFL team as 3rd string quaterback and when he take snap, he did pretty well only for 1 or few snaps. So I believe that Boyd will be Nightmare for Defense under CK system. Boyd have pretty damn good arm and he hell sure can scramble for big yard, Similar to Dixon. SO i believe He will be star and first round pick in NFL if he stayed 3-4 years under CK system compare to Dixon 1 year.

Doesn't sound real good. I still find it hard to believe that a visit he rated 8.5 out of 10 is enough to sway him. Sounds like his mom has been working on him though. We'll soon find out.

It always comes down to distance. Maybe he still comes to Oregon, but this is why people shouldn't get their hopes up and basically say it's a done deal.

You say to look at our 2010 class. The two recruits who have verballed a little over a year from signing day? Wheaton and Phillip are two recruits THIS year. They were two highly rated recruits. They were both recruited by almost all of the West Coast powers. Yet, you are excited about three recruits whose best offers combined are Arizona and Oklahoma State. I don't know where you get your info that our WRs are stacked. We have some good ones, but players get hurt every year and miss time. Our depth is not that great for employing four WR sets. Wheaton would DEFINITELY contribute within his first two years. He's that talented and for sure much more ready to contribute than any three of this weeks' signings. If Kenny Wheaton was named Freddie Frankenbeans, I'd still be disappointed. It has nothing to do with his cousin.

For being a top 10 team this year and getting the national exposure that we got last year, the staff is not really doing that great. We are doing better than 2001-2003 with regards to recruiting rankings, but with the level the program has achieved with regard to national exposure and success, I do feel that we have reason to be a little disappointed.

I agree Pontius. It's nice to have some solid recruits for 2010, but I'm still focused on the 09 class. After seeing our wide receivers last year, we need all the help we can get at that position.

I am not buying it because his dad said "whichever school he chooses they would be happy with, even if it meant up and moving to be close to him if he chose Oregon". Also Boyd said Oregon has an offense that can produce a Heisman winner and he the offense fits his style of play. Oregon also has produced a number of NFL QB's, I am pretty sure more than Clemson and Ohio State (Current Duck QB's in the NFL: Clemens, Dixon, Harrington, Clemson: Charlie Whitehurst Ohio State: Troy Smith) The Ducks have three compared to one each for Clemson and tOSU. BOYD WILL BE A DUCK!!!!

When you lose your WR coach mid way through the heart of recruiting season, what do you expect? That's really the only reason we lost Wheaton. As for Phillipp, we were never really in it with him, so I'm not bummed at all. It stinks when your rivals, like OSewe, snags him, but we need to get over it.

And yes I did mention the 2010 class. Those are 2 stud players who are ducks. Why whine and pout over guys that don't want to be ducks, when we already got players committed to our program so early. Shows they really care about the ducks.

And when did I say that I've given up on this year and am already looking forward to next year? All I said was that all the negaducks who say the sky is falling need to take a sneak peak at next year's class. Even if this class does turn out to be somewhat of a let down, we'll be back on top in the recruiting world shortly. I'm still excited we'll finish strong in this class. I'd much rather have Hall, Gaines, or Diante over Wheaton (in terms of talent). WHEATON IS THE 66TH RANKED WR ACCORDING TO SCOUT (AND 41 ACCORDING TO RIVALS). He had some nice offers, but we have bigger fish to catch.
