Our depth (and experience) at safety is already one of the leading concerns for the position. It's basically Thieneman + Flowers, Lopa, and Woodyard. There's a big drop off after that. Not having a highly talented guy rotating with that group could be problematic.

We certainly couldn't afford another injury at the safety position. I wonder if Finney or someone else may get some reps at safety.

I think you sort of hit on it - they may not be the thick bodied archetypes, but there are corners that you could play. You're always far better off moving a corner to safety than a safety to corner. Jadon Canady, Soloman Davis, Ify and Dakota Fields all could play at safety instead of corner/nickel.

Only good thing is Oregon doesn’t have many teams on the schedule that run an air raid type offense, most of the teams Oregon face will be run heavy. I’d say the two biggest threats in the passing game through October are Indiana and Penn State, and I don’t expect either of those teams to light it up in the passing game, maybe Indiana. I know people are hyping up Drew Allar, but we’ll see what he can do without Tyler Warren.

But it seems as long as Dan has been here safety depth has been an issue, whether it’s injuries or just lack of talent. I know it’ll eventually get fixed but crazy how it’s been a position of concern for so long.

True, Canady would be a good candidate (pun?). Really think Flowers is going to be the dude at some point too..

Most of the interviews are bland statements for journalists to get something in print, but I did find it insightful how Riggs went out of his way to say he loves when World pulls as a blocker. Can absolutely picture that with his athleticism. Seems like World might be scratching the surface of his potential.

Really cool to get some insight into the leadership meeting, scrimmage/practices, etc. These definitely help make up for blocking out media during fall practices.

I was surprised to hear the discussion about Isaiah World in the last presser. It seems like Lanning is pretty high on him, despite the mixed reviews he got here when he was signed. Has there been a universal recognition of improvement, or do people here still disagree with the coaches? I think someone here was saying that maybe Fox Crader would be able to beat him out for the starting left tackle spot...is that still a possibility?
