Mendy just made up for his brain fart by gunning down a runner trying to go to third. 8-)

Moen and Clayton warming in the pen in the top of the 7th - are we ready to trust McGoo to get the final inning done?

3 quick outs again - for the Ducks.

We lead 1-0 going to the top of the 8th - Boer still on the mound.

Howsey on in relief - Ducks plate 3 and leave the bases loaded.

4-1 Ducks to the top of the 9th.

Housey was robbed of a pretty good relief appearance, he had two outs and a 1-2 count and clearly nailed the strike zone for strike three, but to the astonishment of everybody in the park the umpire sneezed or had some dust in his eye or something 'cause he called "ball". Next pitch? Naturally, a passed ball, and a Cougar scores from third and Horton goes to Porter Clayton for the save (Clayton got his first batter to ground out to Kuresa at first).

That sucks for Housey. Might not see McGough in the closer role until Horton feels he has his control down again.

Boer is looking really good this season. Another strong starting pitcher alongside Anderson is key. We need another Thornton and LaTempa this season. Boer seems to be filling in perfectly.

Let's see if Jones can turn into that reliable 3rd starter once he gets more starts under his belt.

3-0 Ducks, bot 4

Some nice, early clutch hits. Jones is rollin' through 4, only given up 1 hit. BYU has already gone to the 'pen.
