I'm old enough to remember the outrage from Conservatives when they shot Randy Weaver's dog but anything to "own the libs" turns them on.
Tens of Thousands of children in Gaza have been killed and we get things like "Ms Rachel is an anti-semite" instead, to say nothing of the ignorance of 60K people being slaughtered over 3 days in Sudan last year and nary a blip of concern from anyone except for nonsense like "I voted for this."

I’m old enough to remember when the right was really concerned about all the three letter agencies in our government—filled with unelected officials that could act on American citizens with impunity. Good times.

Just wondering where these posts about people's civil rights were during the Obama and Biden presidencies. Glad to see our left-leaning friends are finally concerned about government overreach. Welcome!

The car one from a few weeks ago I could at least see the potential justification. She pretty clearly didn’t want to hit him, but it was at least close. Some debate on the extra shots but at least there was a story.
The one today is horrific. You should want that guy put away for decades. Watch all the videos and all the angles, the victim is never armed, the whole interaction seems escalated by the officers, and he has his arms up before being tackled. The 6+ extra shots after he’s down? Disgusting.
I’m sure there’s plenty here that will justify it for whatever reason they feel they need to to fit their narrative. Pretty sure ICE could shoot those same people (during a Trump administration) and they’d still side with ICE against themselves.

Weaver's dog? What about his 14-year-old son and his wife who was holding their baby when she was gunned down? That didn't bother you? Or how about LaVoy Finicum in our own state? The FBI still congratulate themselves and give each other awards for how they ambushed and executed him.

I am just learning of this shooting and definitely don't feel like I have all the facts as I watch grainy edited videos of a melee. I think in general, most people don't want illegal aliens pouring across the border and committing crimes in neighborhoods while also being counted alongside citizens in voting for leadership, taking jobs away from citizens, making housing issues worse, etc. So ICE is sent out, doing the same function they performed under Obama for eight years. Only now, for political reasons, they are being physically resisted by people on the street. Some of the people resisting even bring loaded guns, like the guy who got killed. So is what ICE is doing legitimate, or not? If it is, then armed resistors are risking getting shot every time they start a physical altercation with agents. It seems inevitable that someone is going to make a bad decision during a struggle with law enforcement, especially when there are roving bands of people actively searching for any ICE activity, to the point that they are following cars around mistaking them for ICE agents, breaking up church services, etc. I ran across this video randomly: what is your opinion?

The other issue I have is that we just had the J6 protest a few years ago, and most here were in favor of all of those people going to prison and even the unarmed woman who got killed (Ashli Babbitt) got no sympathy. They were called insurrectionists and they were hounded by the FBI under the Biden administration until several of them committed suicide and many were taken from their jobs and families and thrown into prison. It feels like the reaction here is inconsistent and I can't help feeling like the ideals being expressed here are heavily dependent on which political party is in charge, rather than true defense of civil liberty, which I absolutely believe in.
So is ICE's function legitimate or not?

Standard response. “Still learning the facts”
All you need to do is watch the videos.
Are they legitimate? That’s a NO. Pushing, beating, terrorizing, and killing US citizens. Racial profiling if you’re brown or black. Being told don’t be surprised if you’re killed when legally carrying. Entering areas without a warrant. Walking in front of vehicles - shows their lack of training. Running away after they murder. Lack of due process. After years of going through the legal process they yank you from what was going to be a citizenship ceremony - the finalize step. They take people from immigration hearings when they are they are doing things the right way. Oh and they disobey judges orders.
So tell me? Who’s actively breaking the law and constitution? How is doing all this crap making me safer? Isn’t that the point?? Being safer. And if that’s not the point then what is because right now they are making chaos

It should be a standard response to wait for the facts. I am watching videos, but so far I have no context for why the altercations were happening, what ICE was doing there, etc. That feels like important information to me. I don't think anyone needs a warrant for being on a public street, so I am not sure how that is relevant, but again, I don't have the facts.
I agree about the Epstein files. I am a big fan of Thomas Massie, the guy who led the charge on this, and someone Trump is actively trying to primary out of office.

What about public safety and purpose. Are they doing it legally??? NO
You should ask yourself. How many illegal immigrants in Texas vs Minnesota? And then think - So what exactly is going on??

It’s funny, I spent a good amount of time yesterday reading through Twitter, Facebook and Reddit communities on this matter to see what the “accepted” response from Trump supporters on the shooting would be. I was hoping by throwing the bone about the car shooting at least having some possibility of justification I’d get some more interesting answers here, trying to be impartial and all.
But last night after I wrote this I also wrote down what the response would be based on those other avenues. What would the points be, that kinda thing.
My list included: he had a gun, Obama was doing it too, January 6th/Ashli Babbitt shooting, edited videos and he started it.
You missed: multiple magazines, paid protestors and I threw in as a stretch to see if anyone was really off the plot “waving a gun around” since that’s a pretty common talking point you see in those echo chambers.
I’ll give you a pass since you apparently need 4K IMAX showings of the videos to pass judgement. Once you’ve watched it in a way you find suitable come back to this thread with your actual response. It better not include things from 5+ years ago like Obama and January 6th, those don’t impact the shooting yesterday which is all my post was addressing. I’ll allow hypothetical other ICE shootings and comments on the car shooting from a few weeks back since I invited those in my original post.
Also, watch without sound first. I did and thought it looked suspicious but hey maybe he did reach for a gun or something, maybe a single shot or two is justified. When I flipped sound on and heard the number of shots into the back of a corpse I was legitimately shocked. I watch a lot of police shootings both justified and unjustified, rarely do these things surprise me in that way.

Remember, Renee Good was a "f'in b*tch" who was a domestic terrorist and was hampering the Fed's ability to just do their jobs. Her actions required that level of force to be taken or else we'd all be wondering what crazy world we live in if that Officer did NOT shoot her.
