Eh, then typical Kirk response. Good, but not great. Love his loyalty, but it doesn’t equate to getting you to the promised land.

I would have almost preferred having the old Pac-12 refs again with how one-sided the officiating was in this game. There was no way that Iowa only had one penalty as you could see them holding on every play and they're rather handsy in the secondary. The most egregious play was the fumble that they were about to let Iowa get away with by not even reviewing it until Lanning was forced to take a timeout. Absolute BS right there.

Let’s not forget Benson blew by his man on our last pass attempt and the guy literally grabbed him to save a touchdown. He did PI on purpose. Even looked at the official Just grabbed his waist. Should have placed the ball at the 1. Where is BrewHawk? Where is that punk a$$ to run his mouth?

The fumble they tried to pretend didn’t happen was another example. The ball was clearly out and the Iowa player clearly never had the ball in his hands after it came free, yet they called him down and tried to hurry the game along. Just totally unabashed, corrupt officiating.
I felt the touchdown that should have instead been a delay of game penalty on Iowa just before that was more egregious. Absolutely infuriating. Especially with the announcers "they barely got that off!" No. No they didn't get it off in time. What they did was get away with it. I'm still ******* pissed off about that. It was blatant.

That was as close as I can remember Dan coming to talking about the officials. That dude never loses his temper in press conferences. That’s extremely rare, because most coaches would be going off.

I thought the first TD, and the no call on the illegal WR pick was as bad a no call as you will ever see. Tge Iowa WR was blocking before the ball was even thrown. He didn’t even pretend to run a route.

Don’t disagree. What really got me with the 2 point conversion is you can see the ref pause, knowing the player was out, and make the decision in real time to call him in anyways.

But I guess the same could be said about those plays. That pick play wasn’t subtle at all, and for that not to be OPI, a ref had to consciously make a decision to ignore it.

All the errors I can think of. The thing about these is that individually mistakes happen and officials are human. However, EACH penalty called against Oregon resulted in either a momentum kill of a promising Oregon drive or an extension of an Iowa scoring drive where we had them stopped and going nowhere.

- EVERY single stretch play multiple Oregon linemen would cross the face and have the edge/contain only to be "magically" unable to pursue (as our man Pez correctly pointed out...and Pez is not one to gripe about officials unless it is beyond egregious)
- OPI on McClellan - He was simply getting out of his break and the DB was chucking him to keep him from the break, there was no shove
- DPI on Ify. Did Ify touch him or hinder him? No. Was the ball catchable? Gronowski was just throwing it awy
- Blatant pick on Iowa TD
- 2x Iowa let playclock get to 0
- "Hands to the face" on (Was it Bear?). It was a handful of jersey. Should have picked up the flag.
- Gronowski's lame "jump pass" should have been intentional grounding
- Final Oregon pass play to Benson, Iowa DB just got toasted and sacrificed a waist grab to a surefire TD and even looked at the official to bail him out with the flag...nothing (dude probable exhaled, I thought he was toast and Benson had that even with the non-called PI)

I seem to remember a very questionable hold call on us that negated a big play. I could be wrong though...

Feel free to point out anything I missed. It's good to be griping about this after a W.

Were you able to greet Coach Lanning and the players? I love how they thank the fans for coming out to the away games.
