I am not worried about anyone else leaving. DT is not going anywhere. He is the future QB and as long as it isn't one of our running backs we are fine. Cliff Harris.....yeah maybe but seriously doubt it. The kids that have transferred we all saw coming and I for one was not surprised at all. A little disappointed by Harper but in no way surprised.

Padilla Just called me and informed me he is transferring, Apparently Coach ozborne and him dont get a long. THey decided to bring back Flint and Rob beard as kickers for the fall. I'm not just saying this because Dan is my friend but he was by farthe best kickoff man We had.

Remember that we have 2 highly rated kickers coming in this fall. Although freshman, they will help ease the absence a bit.

Re: There is a rumored big shock transfer?
I saw him in the spring game and in practice, he consistently kicked off inside the 5... Beard and flint could only get it down to around the 15.. that's a huge difference. Yes the two new kickers will make a difference but one is a punter and yes Jackson rice should start.

It is a loss, but it has to be the least painful of all the transfers. I think losing those few yards on kickoffs are worth scholarship, so
I'm not really broken up about this

We'll find an adequate replacement in fall between the four guys. Evenson was an out of bounds pro, so we can survive this.

Isn't he about to be the 4th string kicker? Not to put down your friend, but if he was any better than the other 2 guys he would have been starting regardless of how he an coach Oz get along. Coaches will always play the guy that's the best, because they want to win a lot more than they want to bench a guy they don't like.

Evensen Also was pretty good when it came to booting it into the endzone. All i'm saying is that i think Padilla should have been the kickoff guy so should be interesting to see what kind of field position our opponents get this year because Beard and Flint do not have strong legs, no where close to Evensen and they arent even on schollie.

Re: There is a rumored big shock transfer?
Like I said in this thread several days ago, the only surprising thing about this mutual parting of ways (no different than the mutual parting of ways with Kamyron Brown, by the way) is that it didn't happen even sooner. I agree that kickoffs could be a concern though. I just assumed that Beard had a stronger leg than Flint and would be able to handle the kickoffs adequately, but if his leg strength isn't much more than Flint's then this is yet another question mark for the Ducks entering next season.

Distance doesn't tell the whole story - How about hang time? or placement accuracy to defend the return?

This transfer is probably the least painful, but still sucks to see us lose more players.
Oh well, at least it opens up more scholarships for recruiting.
