I gotta think the Sports Marketing program is difficult to get into. Sure wish they would have had it when I was at UO.

I guess I am getting a getting a different feeling. The more I read, it is sounding more and more like Clemson has pulled into the lead. In the end I think location is going to be the biggest factor in his decision. The fact that his parent didn't accompany Tajh on his visit to Oregon is very concerning.

It was a required 3.5 gpa when I was there to get in...I think.

If his mom would have been able to visit with him, this thing would be sealed already good or bad. Distance is our only hurdle here.

All I know is that if for some reason he doesn't choose Oregon, many people on this board are going to go crazy. And if he goes elsewhere, please none of that "we didn't really need him anyway" or "he isn't that good and won't do well in another schools uniform". I heard that with Pryor last year, and how often is Oregon in the running for a qb of Boyd's caliber?

Here is the reality. If Masoi has the year I believe he's going to have next year there won't be a QB in the country that won't want to play for Chip Kelly and the Ducks. The reality is Mr. Masoli is not the prototypical QB and these kids will look at the fact that they are taller, faster, and believe they have a bigger arm than he does. I think they will say to themselves "If he can do it in that offense imagine what I would do". Because of this they will flock to our program. I may be dreaming but I think we are going to end up being a hot bed for QB's. We have a lot of success with QB's in our past but I think we are going to start getting a lot of media attention with the year that Masoli is going to put up next year.............I hope I am right.

I admire the confidence and hope you are correct. However if it doesn't come to pass I think we will be fine with Masoli, Thomas and Roper. Either with our without Boyd I don't see Thomas redshirting next year. Boyd would definitely RS with his knee surgery and we need someone besides Roper. Even though he can do the job, he was a little brittle last year and we can't even think about having only two QBs. Also as much as I hope Costa can play, I don't see that happening either, sorry Nate.

I agree we will be fine at QB and will have more QB's in future classes wanting to be a Duck. However getting Boyd would be huge for future recruiting, possibly getting Brown and maybe some others? And he is a pretty good QB! :D

With or without Boyd we will be fine. We really dont NEED a qb this year, if we whiff no big deal.....2010 QBS will be lining up to play for the Ducks next season.
So if we get Boyd, awesome, if we don't there's always someone else waiting to take their spot.

And what 2010 qb's are as good as Boyd that will likely be in on the ducks? Rationalize all you want, but it would be a big deal to miss on Boyd.

Agreed, there's really no point of going after big east coast recruits unless their parents can get out here and see UO for themselves.
