Reposting here in the correct thread - Georgia QB Carson Beck hitting the portal after (likely) getting an unfavorable NFL grade.

Heading to Miami to get developed by Cristobal (tongue in cheek).

If Miami fans thought cam ward was up and down, wait until they see Beck.

Ohio State backup just transferred to Cal looking for a starting roll. Wonder how that's gonna go over with their freshman QB

I love that Tennessee is moving on from Nico.
I vomited when I read the story about him holding out and hate overall where college sports is going. At least for now someone is saying they're not gonna stand for it

Has that been announced in any semi official way? Sounds like the parents were shopping him around to get to a rate aligned with the highest tier of college QBs and they didn't have the cash to make that happen. Is that accurate?

Rumors are Nico reached out to Oregon and Lanning said no, glad we avoided this drama and got Moore. Stories like this are making me enjoy college sports less and less.

Also rumored that Lanning informed Heupel the family was shopping Nico.

I know the feeling, I really miss seeing a freshman’s development through the years. One and done’s have ruined college basketball for me.

Kind of related, but nobody should be worried about Dante Moore. If the staff had any doubt we would have found a transfer QB.

Depending on how it went down, Dan might have also felt like he had to say something to UT to be clean of any wrong-doing. It certainly does let every QB on the roster know that he believes in them.
Another angle is he's staying in good graces with other coaches down there in the event he needs to make another coordinator/position hire.
Final thought is I wonder if this is also a way for HC's to push back on this kind of behavior. Dan becoming a no-nonsense/Saban type (who smiles) is one way to counter the coddled ones from the workers.

Nico also was a strong Oregon lean before Tennessee threw the money bag at him (how ironic). So doubt it was hard for Lanning to be honest about Nico was doing this time around.

I find the controversy focused on Lanning very confusing, so maybe someone can explain to me what I'm missing. I just read an article here that attempts to make you gasp many times but without saying at what. The author, who is definitely not a journalist, refers to Lanning as "snitching" on Nico to his present coach, which seems like the stand-up thing to me, so maybe other people can explain how that's doing badly by Tennessee? I'm struggling to find a conclusion that isn't just "fans in the South are stupid/angry/jealous and creating something out of nothing," but very open to being educated.

Secondly, since Oregon didn't bite, it really seems like the market isn't ideal for a college player wanting to get top tier money. He'd have to sit out a year in the Chinos & Polos conference, and big spenders like Michigan, Ohio State, Miami, Clemson and Oregon already have their guy. I found this article interesting in saying UCLA spent $3M to get the top basketball transfer feom New Mexico. I struggle to comprehend where all this money comes from.
