Too bad their season had to end tonight, but it's been a pretty good year for them and hopefully Coach White can get some new players in that can take them further.

Looking at the roster they only have four seniors on this years team, and one of them (highly regarded pitcher Samantha Skillingstad) missed the entire year. According to this article (http://dailyemerald.com/2012/04/24/clar ... d-rosters/) they also other starters to injury.

...Chambers’ backup and starting third baseman, sophomore Courtney Ceo, suffered a season-ending knee injury two weeks ago, which leaves Oregon without its leadoff hitter who paced the team with a .378 batting average.

And those were just the two most recent injuries for the Ducks. Freshman outfielder Alyssa Gillespie — the 6A Player of the Year out of Glencoe, Ore. — has dealt with a shoulder injury that prevented her from seeing any time on the field this season. Sophomore infielder Lauren Kotz has missed the entire season with a back injury, the same injury that kept senior pitcher Samantha Skillingstad from competing in her final year on campus.

All told, that leaves White with four positional subs on a given day — including freshman backup catcher Liz Brenner, who joined the team just last week — and two pitchers to work with. Simply put, these Ducks cannot afford another major injury the rest of the way.

I don't know how recruiting was this year but it certainly appears the future is bright.

yeah, ceo was our best hitter. she was missed.

best season in school history. jessica moore is back next year and as mentioned, a whole host of bats are back, as well. hopefully a return trip to okc is in order.
