Re: NCAA decision in 2-4 weeks
I would like to say I am surprised but quite honestly it seems the NCAA is in no hurry to release their decision. In our judicial system people are guaranteed the right to timely manner when it comes to solving legal issues. As we are seeing, the NCAA has no problems taking as much time as possibly can in some cases while acting in a fast and timely manner on others. Not surprised at all. I wonder what their excuse will be next time. This is borderline ridiculous.

Re: NCAA decision in 2-4 weeks
I can't reviel my source but was just told that UO has been given a heads up on the penalty as of Tuesday. Is love to share the source but that would kill the info pipeline.
Word is 5 years probation, loss of 3 schollies per year, no ban.
Take it for what its worth since I can't say more but that's what I was just told.
Feel free to call bs. I'd appreciate it if this didn't leave the board.

It sounds fair. I can understand the long time frame of probation considering A) The gray area issue lasted a few years and B) UO can be considered a repeat offender.TualatinDuck wrote:I can't reviel my source but was just told that UO has been given a heads up on the penalty as of Tuesday. I only wonder if the school has been self-imposing schollie reductions without announcing it, since they won't say anything publicly without being forced to.

Mm your confusing the announcement with informal talks on the issue. But your right the university will get a 24 hour notice before sanctions are announced to the public.

Forget it. I said it was a heads up meaning informal exchange of information. Not a formal notice of release. I have 0 clue on the announcement. Thought our members would appreciate not being left in the dark.

This is being said on the Rivals board, which got it from Scout. I'm guessing this isn't correct, otherwise why hold onto it?TualatinDuck wrote:I can't reviel my source but was just told that UO has been given a heads up on the penalty as of Tuesday. The same thread on Rivals has a link to Adam Jude's Twitter saying that the NCAA will delay for another week, since they are having open forums on the Miami scandal

Tualatin- no one is fishing. By NCAA rules, once they inform the university of penalites they then give them the 24 hour notice which basically says we are now going to make this public in 24 hours. SO if they told UO on Tuesday then there is no reason they should have not announced it on Wednesday. That is my point.
What your source is telling you is what has been floating around on message boards for the last two days.

If Im being lead astray, I can accept that.
But my source is not from a message board or from people that frequent them.

Re: NCAA decision in 2-4 weeks
Does the NCAA have a concrete policy of making punishments public? Oregon is so tight lipped about everything I can totally see a scenario where punishment has been handed down and UO hasn't said a word about it publicaly.
