Sometimes it's not always about a championship. If that were the case all the top kids would commit to the same school. A player can excel and be noticed while still playing for a mediocre team.OregonFan4Life wrote:If Flowe wants to go be a part of an average program and blend in and be nothing special, then be my guest. With Helton as coach Flowe will not be a threat at all to Oregon at that crappy program. If he wants to be a part of something special though, then head 850 miles north and stand out on a rising program with a strong culture and national championship aspirations. In reality it’s a no brainer, but these kids aren’t always smart and have family urging them to make bad decisions cause they don’t want to let go.

Re: Justin Flowe
This has little to nothing to do with recruiting. They are 17-18 year old kids being sold on going to places by people that are paid millions of dollars because they are good at it and also being pulled by family and friends that they have thought had their best interests in mind their whole life. When I was that age I could be convinced by a girl with a nice butt to do most things, I can't imagine how I would have held up in the situation they are all in.OregonFan4Life wrote:If Flowe wants to go be a part of an average program and blend in and be nothing special, then be my guest. Re: Justin Flowe
There are lots of programs I could see a 5 star commit going to over Oregon, even in the PAC-12. Washington has been on the rise, were in the playoffs recently, and there’s some hype around Lake. Chip seems to have things going in the right direction at UCLA, same with Herm at ASU. Plus Stanford is Stanford, Utah is tough, and Cal could’ve been much better if they stayed healthy. Heck even OSU is on the rise and they have a dynamic and exciting offense. But USC? They are so stuck in mediocrity that I can’t understand how anyone could see that as a good destination. It’s not logical in my mind, it’s entirely living in the past and doing what your parents tell you to do. Wright stood out at Oregon, the PAC-12 champs, but Steele didn’t seem to stand out at USC at all. It’ll be the same with Sewell at Oregon and Flowe if he goes to USC.

Biggins just put out a crystal ball for undecided on Flowe. I don’t know how any of these insiders get their info but I thought he was one that predicted Oregon a couple days ago. Definitely seems like something has changed

Re: Justin Flowe
I think Flowe's visit to SC and recent social media chatter has moved him back to undecided. He's pretty in-tune with West Coast recruiting so if he makes his pick again in the next day or so, then that's likely where Flowe is headed.brich75 wrote:Biggins just put out a crystal ball for undecided on Flowe. It’s looking like USC now. Damn, Chris Steele is a dick. Did someone on the Oregon staff make love to his mother, killed his dog, and pissed in his cereal?

According to who? Biggins said that he goes cloudy sometimes when the family doesn't want him reveal where the kid is going.GoDucksTroll wrote:Biggins switched his from Clemson to cloudy.brich75 wrote:Biggins just put out a crystal ball for undecided on Flowe. He said this today on the USC 247 website:
"He likes Oregon's staff a lot and likes their new DC, Andy Avalos who also works closely with the LBs. He likes the overall energy there, visited 3 times and has a very strong comfort level, likes the direction the program is going and feels they're close to competing for a playoff and is just a few pieces away."
"Eugene definitely isn't a big city but he knows a ton of players there and it's much closer to home as well. I would say he has a much stronger comfort level in Eugene then then at Clemson, more socially compatible. Is it L.A, of course not, that's why I said it could potentially be a compromise choice since for most of his recruitment, he had said he wanted to get away from home to avoid potential distractions."

Still there is an interesting reason USC has an outside shot at landing Flowe. The No. 55 is very important to Flowe, and he would get the chance to don that number as a Trojan since none of the current linebackers own it. Flowe talked to 247Sports about what that number means to him.
“They bring up the No. 55 all of the time,” smiled Flowe. “They say, ‘Come over here and you’ll most likely get that No. 55.’
“That’s big. Me and my family talk about that all of the time. I love No. 10, but if 55 comes then probably 55.”
Based on Flowe’s 247Sports Scouting Report, it’s not hard to see why college football’s best programs are after him.

Normally I don't get mad losing recruits to USC(except for Juju because Helfrich fked that up), but this would be an exception because of how terrible their program is right now and because Flowe has said he wants to get out of LA previously.

Re: Justin Flowe
Couldn't Flowe just switch to 55 after one year at Oregon? I'm not too worried about that being the deciding factor.
Willie Taggart is a dick.

That "USC tradition", Junior Seau & Willie McGinest wore 55, but since them, only Lamar Smith in 2014, has donned it. Unfortunately, 55 and the pull of grandma looks to be very strong.GrantDuck wrote:Normally I don't get mad losing recruits to USC(except for Juju because Helfrich fked that up), but this would be an exception because of how terrible their program is right now and because Flowe has said he wants to get out of LA previously.
FWIW, Nemec still thinks it's going to be Oregon: https://www.oregonlive.com/recruiting/2 ... flowe.html
I always say that the team that hosts the last visit has a chance, and that is particularly the case when the last visit is to a local program, but I still feel Flowe will choose Oregon on Signing Day.
Late changes of heart happen all the time. These are teenagers making a life-altering decision, after all.
But the Ducks have done the work, and connecting Flowe with defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux, linebacker Noah Sewell and others to form an elite defensive front-seven is an intriguing sales pitch.
It’s not a slam dunk, but I still predict Flowe to Oregon.

Add in big eues (Hopefully both the same color), and a sweet smile, and things could get distracting...pudgejeff wrote:Haha, you're not wrongjustducky0 wrote:Still could tbhpudgejeff wrote:This has little to nothing to do with recruiting.
