The UCLA game highlighted DT, with all day to pass, and receivers getting open at will. DT was sharp and crisp that day, very accurate, and piled on the points because UCLA couldn't get a pass rush and had to adjust to defend the pass, which leaves LMJ free to wreck havoc.
Somewhere after the USC game, the O-line started getting beat and penetration hurried DT, making him inaccurate on throws and not allowing receivers to get open.
I'll say it right now, if DT has a great game accurately passing the ball against Auburn and receivers are getting open. Oregon will roll.

I completely agree if DT in ON we can not be stopped! Also the 5 weeks is crucial to getting our O-line ready and LMJs energy back both groups looked tried the last few games.
My only concern is HOW the HELL we stop Cam a few times so we can win...dude is scary good!
I can't wait to see what happens....

Statistically, I don't think either team varies by more than 15-20 spots in any stat other than Pass D where we are one of the best and Auburn is on the other end of the spectrum. It would seem that this is about the only glaring difference between the two teams and I hope it does make the difference

I whole heartedly welcome the Auburn fans and what they bring to the discussion however, I am really sick of the SEC vs Pac-10 conversations. This isnt like the hardwood series where both confrences man up and see who comes out on top, this is one game for all the marbles. Its Oregon vs Auburn in Glendale and I really wish the rest of the SEC honks and pukes would hammer that into thier retardedly thick skulls. Its for that reason alone I can not visit an SEC board. They just dont get it.

I think trying to compare Oregon and Auburn is almost impossible. We did not play any of the same teams. However our teams are scary similiar in style.
What I can say is this.
Oregon ran the table in the PAC 10 and undefeated = great team.
Auburn won the SEC and undefeated= great team.
great team vs great team should = great game.
I tell you what though. If one of our teams do not show up to play in January. It can get scary in a hurry due to both offenses being so explosive.
If it lives up to it's billing, should be a ton of fireworks and exciting. I hope this is the case win or lose.

Example 2: Oregon St, Stanford and USC are all pretty good examples of lateral running. The UCLA game is our best example of tempo, however.
All should be available on ESPN3 since they were all ABC/ESPN games.
I honestly think the UCLA game was our best this season. Pretty much executed to perfection that entire game.
So far I think your right. I had the same thought the other day. Everyone played on both sides of the ball played lights out that night. Our best game so far....
Let's hope that changes on 1/10/11.

Auburn cannot get behind like we did in the Iron Bowl. While I have faith in our defense, I just can't see us coming back from a 24-0(or something similar) deficit against Oregon. UO would have to collapse much like 'Bama did, and I don't think that's going to happen.
The team who makes the most mistakes loses.

I think you could say the same thing with Oregon, as I don't see Auburn losing a 24-0 lead either.

Well... Auburn was up 31-14 to Kentucky. We got really conservative on play calling and Kentucky was able to stop us. Kentucky eventually caught up to us 34-34 and we matched down the field on an 8 minute drive to win with a field goal.
I would say it's more possible that Oregon would catch up to Auburn than Auburn being able to catch up to Oregon.

Well said...its my hope is we both play to our potentials and may the best team win because this could go down as one of the most exciting games all-time!

Well I am giddish about this matchup,...totally stroked.
Would hope if an Auburn fan could clear enlighten me over. That being line depth on defense and offense lines. I anticipate a wild first half,...the one who makes the lesser of mistakes in control. The pace though on both sides Many have spoken of the need to rotate fresh bodies on defense against the Oregon offense...but I do not recollect many even on the Duck board through this season here, addressing the need of rotation of the offensive line against the Oregon defense. A tired O'line is going to be stretched to perform at the same level in the 2nd half.
Did the tigers utilize their 2nd string much through the season? The Tigers faced a lot of close games through the season,...that makes me ponder the actual game experience these back ups have. Who are these kids on he Auburn side who IMO are going to be the game winners in this circumstance if Auburn were to prevail. (No disrespect to Cam,..but this is going to be a team win)

No, Auburn does not rotate their o-line. Auburn's philosophy is to keep the same players on the field the whole game, however, we still do have to substitute key players every now and then such as receivers and running backs. Still, many teams have kept a rotation on D-line and we were still able to manhandle them the whole game. If Malzahn could have it his way, there would be no substitutions ever!

This is something that may be getting overlooked by Duck fans. I don't think we have played another true hurry up offense, that will not allow us to substitute on defense like we are wont to do.
Currently, our guys have the mindset to give it everything for 3 plays and then get a substitution. They will not have that luxury in this game. So I wonder how that will affect our defensive game plan.
It does seem to me that since Oregon has played 25 guys on defense all year that maybe our backups will hold up better than Auburn's backups if both teams go balls out the whole game. How fun would that be?
