FFS People!
Can we cut DJackson a break? The kid has much more important things on his heart and mind than just football. Did anyone think that might be why he is a “step slow” this year? He has flashed just fine previously.
Man….I love this forum but the way some of the posters get on here and just sh!t all over 17-23 year olds is an eye roll.
I’m a little heated so if I’m coming off like a dick, I apologize, but if any of us are such great evaluators of talent give your two weeks at your job and submit your resume to Mullens and Lanning. Until then, I’m going to trust the guys that have their entire paychecks, careers and family livelihood riding on their ability to evaluate, teach and correct.

I’m sorry but who was hating on Jackson? I didn’t see anyone say anything, I saw a comment about how our safeties might be better at reading run plays by the LB’s but I didn’t see anyone say anything specific about Jackson.
Sounds like he’s going through some real tough stuff and you have insight, can you share?

Yikes that is tough, prayers for the Jackson family. I wasn’t aware of that but it’s gonna be hard to focus with news like that.

This news came across Duck social media this AM. His mom has breast cancer and she is at the game because she wanted to see him in person one time before she has surgery and treatment.
Everyone on this forum has pretty damn good insight and brings great opinions, but it can get frustrating to get on here during 50+ point wins only to hear how this player is slow, that player is unathletic, these kids are a weakness, etc.
I’m not saying we have to have our heads in the sand and be rah-rah Pollyanna all the time, but I don’t know, just seems like it’s pretty easy to crap all over a group of players all season and then if the season ends in a playoff loss? You get to say “see, I told you all season long they sucked.”
If the Duck season ends with hoisting a natty? You get to say “wow, we won all that in spite of how crappy (insert group here) was”. Either way that opinion has no chance to be invalidated, so there is no risk.

Oregon really took their foot off the gas they easily could have gone for 80+ had they attempted to run the full offense even with Moga in there.

It seems like this is another case of "you find what you go looking for" whether it is there or not. I really don't see what you're describing, but don't let me get in the way of a good rant.

I assume it was directed to me. Jackson is getting the first or second most reps but he's not developing. Pre-dates this year, but with the opportunities on the depth chart, it's especially on display this year. For the things happening in his personal life, that's awful and hope they can get through it.

Yeah, I don't get the linebacker hate either. Tuioti had a sack today, Jackson had five tackles, and Mixon with the pick 6, to go with Boettcher's team-leading nine tackles. They all looked like they were having good games to me. I guess we have to wait until Penn State to find out if they are good?

I thought the lb were fine, but Jackson still plays like a fast track guy, trying to be a football player. Rather that the other way around. Mixon looks huge compared to Bryce out there now. During the first drive, I noticed him and couldn’t belive it was Mixon.
Benson is playing like the top rated 5* he was a couple years ago. Happy to see it.
Really wish they would give Hill about 10 carries in the second half. I get they didn’t want to run up the score, but I’ve seen enough of Hughes, give the fr the experience
