If after talking to Kelly and he didn't suspend him, then it comes down to either he lied to Kelly about the incident or Masoli was telling the truth and Kelly is willing to let courts prove his innocence. If he lied, I would think that Kelly would have come out already and probably kicked off or suspended Masoli, unless Kelly has already done so or is waiting until later.

Did I say anyone did? People did give me a lot of s*** for dragging a kid's name through the mud, however. But I don't have any sour grapes. I'm not gonna post things I hear anymore, but that's not out of hurt feelings. I was just saying, I told you guys this weeks ago. It shouldn't come as that big of a shock, though I didn't expect anyone to have 100% faith in me.
IIRC your source was someone in the department. How would said person in the department have known this if Masoli was lying about the whole incident when it seemed like nobody knew what was going on for the last couple months.

I think we all need to just step back from our keyboards and take a breath. JM is being arraigned, not convicted and sent to jail. Charges could be dropped or they could stick. He could be off the team or he could not but falling apart on a message board will not make anything better.

People are so quick to get rid of a person if they are accused of a crime. Being accused and being convicted are fairly different. It seems as if people are guilty until proven innocent nowadays.

All of the people who attacked the "frat douches" should think before making statements based on emotion, rather than critical reasoning. Masoli lied to his coach and embarrassed the university, his teammates, and disappointed a lot of fans.
Dude it is common knowledge that all frat guys are stereotyped as douchebags.

Seriously, just look at the tags for frat boy: douchebag, douche, douche bag, and douchebaggery

I have a feeling Chip knows already what he is going to do and is waiting for them to resolve themselves before he makes an announcement.

although things don't look good, i'm still on the innocent until proven guilty side. nonetheless, i was researching some quotes about darron thomas and found this one a little surprising:
I have been infatuated with Darron Thomas. Thomas, other than maybe Will HIll up in Jersey, has the quickest feet in the nation. His acceleration and explosion is unreal. He goes from standing in the pocket to full speed as fast as anyone I have seen in years. 6-3, 190 pounds, can run like crazy, going to Oregon. Sound familiar Dennis Dixon fans? Unlike Dixon, Thomas has the frame to put weight on. Dixon was incredibly wiry and I think it cost him with the injury. Thomas is much thicker.
i knew he had great quickness, i just didn't know it was viewed in that high of a regard coming out of high school.

Maybe they knew that there was strong evidence against him, maybe he actually didn't tell Kelly flat out he wasn't there, I'm not sure. It's weird that I still have to defend myself after what I posted has been vindicated.

Whatever. I don't care if you still don't want to believe this. If you're that kind of an optimist, then do your thing. I'm just doing the immature "told ya so" thing, because I felt people were rude to me about the info I posted earlier. Not a big deal.

I dare folks to wait and see what the verdict of Masoli's day in court will be before throwing him under the buss. So many people unfairly assume being "charged" is the same as being guilty.

No worries, I'm not attacking your post or your source. I just keep hearing everyone saying how he'll be kicked off the team for lying when it seems to me that the athletic department knew about this all along. Probably the abused inner child in all of us trying to protect ourselves from future harm.

I think most of us appreciate the info even if we dont say it. I hate these kinds of threads personally cuz either everyone is at everyone else's throats, having a complete panic attack, or trying to be optimistic and getting flamed for it.

I like to stick to the more football oriented threads, which is prolly why I haven't said much the last coupla months

That's whats so funny about all these reactions. There could be a trial & Masoli is found not guilty & embry guilty. What do we do then? Obviously if Masolis not guilty he probably DIDN'T DO IT. Relaxe people. Things don't look good but it isn't over.

Haha, that is part of what makes this so frustrating. It could turn out that he didn't do it and isn't guilty. What that means is that this is just the beginning of this ordeal, not the end, and we get to sit through it in all its glory.

I think you're going with the "told ya so" thing a little prematurely.

Some may have said some rude things. I don't remember. However, the main contention that I remember wasn't what you were saying but how you were saying it. You were claiming that you knew Masoli definitely is guilty of the crime. Him being charged doesn't vindicate that claim. He may still not be convicted and then you will still have claimed he was guilty when he ultimately was not found to be in court. That's what some of us were trying to point out. I agree that it shouldn't have been a big deal...

This is so screwed-up its unreal...I never would have guessed either LMJ or JM could screw up this royally, especially JM!

If they are guilty I want them gone for a year minimum.

GO DUCKS!!

If Chip doesn't allow Masoli to get back, could he enter the draft?
