Re: Dream Finish
Sategna I really, really liked. Can’t blame him when he sees our WR stats, lack of proven QB for the future, and guys like Troy Franklin and Deonte Thornton waiting to be the man.
Good read from Wiltfong: https://247sports.com/LongFormArticle/C ... 174469901/
Duck relevant updates:
* Doesn’t list Oregon as one of Harold Perkins’ top-5.
* Anthony Lucas looks like Texas A&M or Bama, no mention of Oregon.
* Domani Jackson, incredible athlete and 5-star CB from Mater Dei who is committed to USC is considering Michigan and Alabama.
* 4-star LB David Bailey, another Mater Dei kid, is looking like USC or Stanford - although Oregon has tried.
* USC QB commit Devin Brown looking around, Ole Miss possibly.
* Josh Connerly - thinks it’s Michigan, no mention of Oregon.
* Kevin Coleman is either Florida State or Oregon.
That trims our dream finish list to:
* Connerly (unlikely) Coleman, Cyrus Moss, Nyjalik Kelly, Zeke Berry, LB Lander Barton.
I don’t count out Mario and company for surprises, it seems like there is at least one every year.

Re: Dream Finish
Can't fault the kid for wanting to play for his hometown. Its quite respectful, especially when the kid is a high talent and has offers from elite programs and the hometown team is not a powerhouse. (Unlike what many elite Oregon basketball and football talents have done)

Re: Dream Finish
I think they'll end up with a DL that isn't getting a lot of praise. They've offered a few different kids recently that are built about 6'2, 250. Won't be flashy, but it will fill a need.

Re: Dream Finish
I think another part of why Oregon isn't connected to many recruits is just pure numbers. They need a lot of transfers/early entries/retirees just to get close to 25 recruits so the staff is being a bit picky on who they take to finish the class.

Kelvin Banks is visiting Texas A&M this weekend. We’ll see how this plays out.

Yeah, and possibly Texas. Hope this isn’t trending. Losing Banks would be terrible on many fronts, a big black eye for the Ducks. Are there any other O-lineman they are looking at remotely as good?HomeSickDuck wrote:Kelvin Banks is visiting Texas A&M this weekend. We’ll see how this plays out.

Sounds like Conerly isn’t going to happen too.Everythingsducky wrote:Yeah, and possibly Texas. Hope this isn’t trending. Losing Banks would be terrible on many fronts, a big black eye for the Ducks. The Ducks backed off Conerly. They didn't want to upset Banks or Williams by bringing in another tackle.HomeSickDuck wrote:Sounds like Conerly isn’t going to happen too.Everythingsducky wrote:Yeah, and possibly Texas. I fully expect Winston and Lewis to de-commit also.
The Ducks will add Clemons (there is some talk about Coleman but I am not sold that is real. They don't need 4 WRs in this class.
The rest of the spaces will likely be Kelly, Moss (maybe Barton) and Zeke Berry.
No need to panic.

As banks continues to take visits, that’s some irony.
No need to panic.

Irony? Talk me through how banks taking visits is ironic?
Risk perhaps. Concerning maybe? Ironic…. Not so sure

Ironic because they didn’t want to upset him by taking Conerly like another poster said. But banks is still taking visits. I’m all for using all the visits, don’t get me wrong.jimmy12 wrote:Irony? Talk me through how banks taking visits is ironic?

Re: Dream Finish
The more and more I see of Darius Clemons the more I like.
Pick-6 from last week: https://twitter.com/DarriusClemons/stat ... 90821?s=20
One handed grab from last month: https://twitter.com/MaxPreps/status/145 ... 17572?s=20
7-on-7 one handed TD catch from February 2020: https://twitter.com/SWiltfong247/status ... 86240?s=20
Like I said, Clemons is a luxury recruit given our WR situation. But having the two best 6’3”+ WRs in the class is nothing to scoff at. There’s also something about getting the top recruit in the state that I value to an extent.
As for Kelvin Banks, gotta hang on to this kid. With Jonah T and Kingsley flaming out it would be nice to have an elite recruit we actually succeed with other than Penei. If they perform they could be Ryan Walk-ons for all I care but we all know the recruiting percentage success odds.
Zeke Berry would help shore up the safeties and CBs which are looking sus for the future. Cyrus Moss is almost a must have, same for Nyjalik Kelly. If you look at the top-ten schools the DL is where Oregon is lacking. One 5-star and three 4-stars, compared to Georgia with Georgia’s roster that has two 5-stars and nine 4-stars. Reminded me of Siaki Ika. 3.5 sacks in his last 4 games at Baylor. From a space eater.

Re: Dream Finish
I really hope they take Keionte Scott and Zeke. I like Zeke as a strong safety/nickel, and though they're recruiting Scott for the same spot, I think he could come in and immediately be the best corner on the roster.
