i don't understand why Jay Harris is buried on this depth chart. or he can only play 4 games even though he's the 2nd or 3rd best RB on the team?
My assumption is they are likely trying to redshirt him. Plus, we have no proof he’s significantly better than Whittington or Limar. There’s more to the RB position than just running the ball. For all we know, he’s limited as a pass catcher and blocker, so they feel more at ease playing the other guys. I think you only burn the redshirt if he’s a significant upgrade over the other options. If Whittington keeps playing like today, I don’t think we see much of Harris.
Whittington hasn't looked good until today.
Limar won us the Boise State game but other than that he's not a good back at all.
omg Harmon just gave them a TD for no reason.
You've seen enough of Lamar to make this assessment?

small backs in general just don't work well in this offense. Bucky did well because he was incredibly shifty and he was a hard runner too. He's the exception, not the rule.

Another 3rd quarter where they have a chance to put the game away and they can’t do it.
Illinois had their best qtr and I agree about the poor third qtr thing. I'ts odd.

lol, the game has been put away for a while. It was over at half time. Illinois doesn’t have a potent enough offense to get back in it.
True but Oregon has had 3rd quarter woes multiple times this season, in blowouts and close games.

Why is Gabriel still in the game then? It’s not about losing it’s getting reps for the 2nd and 3rd string guys.

Whittington was averaging over 7 yards a carry prior to his injury last year. He averaged 5.6 yards a carry the year before in a similar offense. He’s going to be fine. He’s a guy coming back from an ACL tear that is finding his confidence again. If they thought Harris was going to be a huge upgrade, I’m sure they’d be playing him.

Edit, nvm, clearly want targetting, but Lanning is still gonna be furious at this team for this second half effort.

Good for the refs. That was just an unavoidable collision, clearly not targeting.

What a stupid play by Johnson, Lanning is gonna be furious at this team for this second half effort.
Haha, there was nothing he could do in that situation, hence why they overturned it.

That was a hell of a pick! I’m loving seeing the improvement of the backup defense lately!
