What happened to Austin Novasad? Sorry if this has already been asked, but I thought he was the #2 QB?

He was listed as questionable on the injury chart, sounds like he wasn’t 100% and was kept out as precautionary.

So maybe it is time to write off Gundy's time at his alma mater, as some are doing, believing it's time for Oklahoma State to look for someone else to right the ship. Still, I'll be curious to see how the Cowboys look at home Sept 19, against Tulsa, after a bye week. That would seem to be a winnable game. Then they host Baylor, where they might be underdogs, but maybe could still win. Just saying I wouldn't be as shocked as some to see Ok. State turn its season into something decent.

Game video: https://gamesontvtoday.com/texas-am-agg ... v-schedule

Just a few random thoughts... The stats aren't kind, but Makhi was playing with backup linemen and is a really good player. I'd encourage fans to put more weight on his 2024 season than his 13 or so carries so far this year. I truly love what he shows you as a break-tackles-and-fall-forward guy, so he probably is my 3rd and 1 choice if you put a gun to my head.

Na'eem Offord is going to be very good, but right now he's a clear step behind Ify, Laulea, and Finney Jr. When he's healthy, I think Theran Johnson will be in the top 4 with Offord being a developmental guy.

I've been beating this horse all the was to Hades, but Pregnon is just a physical specimen and invaluable in the run game. World did really good work in this game, and the right side was solid. Iuli is clearly the weak link in the line but he did a pretty good job in this gave with fewer mental errors than game 1.

When OKSU decided they wanted to just run the ball up to A and B gaps for an entire drive, they had a lot of success. I re-watched that series to see what the deal was, and there was plenty of blame to go to both the linebackers and defensive line. DL was getting moved back when it was 4 taking on 5, and the linebackers were not finding the running back until they were 2-3 yards downfield already. I feel like this game could have been very different if they kept at it, and it worries me for future games.

Nasir Wyatt is hilariously small. I think he might be smaller than multiple of our safeties. But boy he's a football player. He's what I hoped Brandon Buckner a few years ago would be, an undersized, savvy sack specialist who knows how to avoid blockers and get to the ball carrier.

STU I was hoping to get your thoughts on the interior DLine. I’m no expert but I feel like Washington is that really good reliable interior DLineman, but who is that second guy? It looked to me when OSU had success running the ball they just simply double teamed Washington and were able to block the rest (including get LB’s) quite easily. And that’s concerning since OSU has arguably the worst OLine (taking injuries into consideration) that this team will see all season. Besides injuries, perhaps my biggest concern for this team is who will be the guy that can line up with Washington and consistently win 1v1 battles, to where you basically tell opposing OLines to pick your poison. Like last year, you double team Harmon, good luck beating Caldwell 1v1. Double team Caldwell, good luck beating Harmon 1v1. Doesn’t seem like we have that guy yet and hopefully someone steps up. Do you see that being an issue? And who do you see being that guy to step up alongside Washington, if anyone?

Against OSU with a backup QB that struggled, seems like the safeties were mainly focused on run support and made good plays. But against really good competition that won’t be reliable.

I was expecting more from Bear, especially with apparently how hard he worked in the offseason, but he looks small out there and seems to be getting pushed around quite a bit. He looks to be on the 2nd or 3rd team defense and that’s quite disappointing.

You're not wrong. When you watch this game back, A'Mauri definitely does his job, but the other guys weren't always doing theirs in the run game. I want to go back and watch Matayo, if I can. But what I would say is that if we were truly getting running over and run through, the personnel should allow for doing whatever you need to do. I have a hard time picturing a line of Bear, Terrance Green, Washington, and Matayo not being able to stop the run. I obviously didn't mention Gray, and that's because I haven't been super impressed with the first two games from him but I am also guilty of not watching him play in and play out, which the coaches do, so he must be doing alright since he's getting starter reps.

My take from the game is after 2 years of watching Limar I finally see a bit of what the coaches have always seen in him. He always seemed to me to be too high on the depth chart as a casual viewer.

So the guy is like Lowe, always does what he is supposed to. Plays hard, blocks, goes to the right places. Like all the running backs at Oregon he has running skills but you see him in most of the 2 back sets because he'll block with a fullback mentality if not a fullback body or can be a dependable outlet going to the right place. Coaches love these guys.

Interior DL and Mixon/Boettcher will absolutely be tested against Penn State, Iowa, even UW/USC. Boettcher, as much as I love the guy, got pretty owned in the Penn State game last year.

Part of the issue on that drive was we were running a REALLY light box and daring Oklahoma state to run the ball. We had 4v6 at times in there. In the redzone, where it was condensed, we added more to the box and they ran plays outside as a result.

Other part as mentioned by STU as outside of Amauri, other guys were not great that drive.

I had not seen this guy's videos (the "The Film Guy"), which figures since he says he hasn't analyzed the ducks before. Very entertaining.

So Coaches, Film Guy and 2 years late Grandpa Duck are now part of the Limar fan club.

He's interviewed Lanning before and talked about Oregon in other videos but it was nice seeing him do an in-depth film breakdown.

I actually feel bad for the players on that team. Their coach basically tells them they aren't good early in the week, then they get embarrassed on the field. Rough week.
