Last time America saw Jeremiah Masoli, the Oregon quarterback was pancaking the Oklahoma State defense in the Ducks Holiday Bowl romp.

Oregon Ducks quarterback Jeremiah Masoli was a surprise standout in the Pac-10 last season.
Masoli ran for three touchdowns and passed for another while piling up 364 yards of total offense in the 42-31 victory, but most folks afterwards only wanted to talk about him knocking a pair of Cowboys rear-end-over-tea-kettle.

Yet Masoli isn't the sort to gloat about the hits, even when egged on by a reporter.

"After I watched it on film, I definitely felt bad for them," he said.....

If Masoli manages to hang up big numbers amid a four-game winning streak to start the season, his serenity might be challenged by something else.

Heisman Trophy hype.

It's refreshing that someone outside our Duck circle noticed the malicious, near criminal headhunting of the BSU defense. I'm quite certain that our guys will not forget that when we step on their field this fall. I'm hoping for an absolute blowout to embarrass them on their home field.

Great article on Masoli.

And that Boise State is a statement game for the rest of the season. Sure first games are always important, but going on the road against a team who came into Autzen last season and beat us has so much more importance.

If I had to choose a game outside of the civil war that I wanted to win this year, it would be the game against Boise ST.

Much as we like to say 'Payback is Hell', the truly sweet revenge would be to have a clean game, and still blow BSU out the door.

Scoreless Broncos? Priceless!

Masoli is a special player, no doubt.

Can anyone else remember when we had a QB takes us to 10 wins in his sophomore year? That's right, it's never happened before. Closest thing to it was Joey's 9 wins as a Sophomore. And we all remembered the magical seasons that followed after that.

Those are big shoes to fill, but if Masoli stays healthy, he can take us to the promised lands, as long as his passing keeps progressing.

I hope every time TJ Ward lifts a weight this year he is thinking about the punishment he is going to lay on BSU.
I can't wait to see that game in person I've been looking forward to it since the Civil War.
