Didn't Portland have quite a bit of success against us last season? I'm sure the team will be excited for the home opener, and the fans better be there in full-force!

portland ALWAYS has success against us. never a gimme.

They've given Oregon problems every year since the program was reinstated. They always seem to have good pitching so it will be a good test for Oregon's young lineup.

Is this at portland or in Eugene?

It's the first game of the season at PK Park for the Ducks.

Oregon is now in the Top 25 in 2 different polls: 18 in Baseball America Poll and 12 in the USA Today Coaches' Poll.

Beat me to the punch! Great start for Oregon.

portland is an impossible team to predict. they've thrown their friday ace at us before in what should have been a meaningless mid-week game. they've also thrown guys who had no business starting a college baseball game.

they've played one mid-week game this year, and beat concordia (oregon) 11-4. up is 5-0 on the year. they've got a series @ cal state bakerfield starting friday, so one would think they would save their top 3 pitchers for that, but like i said, the pilots can be tricky. they only played two game against creighton last weekend because of weather; one of their starters has gotten a rather long break.
