Which Duck Surprises people

Post by GoDucksIn09 »

I thought it would be interesting to see who Duck fans think will surprise people by the end of 2009. Somebody under the radar or somebody brand new to the ducks. Who will come out of left field and make an impact on the season. My pick may not be out of left field but will say LaMichael James... Thoughts?

you could say he is out of left field. He is currently 4th string behind blount, crenshaw ,alston he is completely unproven no one has ever seen him play.kinda like another guy from last year you may have heard of named masoli.I would say masoli came out of left field.for me anyway.
why the argument for him comming out of left field? well he is my pick as well.
GO JAMES

I agree on James he could come in a be a help. I also think Blake Cantu could surpirse at WR. On Defense Kenny Rowe at the other DE should have a great year.

I'm going with Defense. People will expect that Oregon's offense is going to roll (even if other teams can't stop it) but nobody expects much from the D.

I'm going with TJ Ward laying down a "Patrick Who?" line as he lights up other teams. I would also go with a linebacker, but I honestly don't know what's expected from the linebacker core, especially with the new guys.

How exactly is James coming out of left field? James was a 4* recruit who is being hyped by everyone from the media to the coaches and even the fans. James is more like a starting shortstop batting in the middle of the order.

It might be tough to define what "out of left field" means when we all have high hopes for a lot of different players.

So, not sure if they count as "left field". But, my picks:

Crenshaw
Montgomery
Barner

I could see Gaines being a big factor too. Ward, I know is going to be a beast.

I agree, neither is TJ Ward.

Out of Left field:
DJackson
Keaton Arden
LJames
Re-establish themselves:
Ed Dickson
Walter Thurmond III
Going to be off the charts:
Will Tukuafu
Spencer Paysinger
Masoli
Blount
Just a few players I was thinking about. I know you were saying "out of left field" but I went with a few more categories just for kicks
In Helfrich, Frost, and Allioti we trust

Yes LaMichael James was a 4 star recruit.. but at this point thats all he is. He has not yaken the field yet and in years past we have had players thought would be good but have not panned out. I guess by out of left field would be a guy that the rest of country does not know of him at this time but by years end will know of him. Masoli was defnitely leader of that pac last year for Oregon.

I'm staying away from this topic. Last year I picked Nate Costa, Terrance Pritchett, and Todd Doxey.

I honestly can say my pick last year was Masoli. This year I'll take a dark horse on both sides of the ball: Brandon Bair and Chris Harper. You may say, Chris Harper, a dark horse? Harper will begin his domination by the end of next year. I really think that Chip is going to get this guy the ball a lot and show people why he said that Harper was the most dangerous kid with the ball in his hand. Bair was listed ahead of Cellotto before the latter announced his decision to leave the program.

can i pick the duck defense as a hole? I think that if they were to to be exceptional this year it would shock most people.I cant think of to many people who think they will be that good.

I think Bair's a really good pick. Actually so is CHarper.

Anybody agree with my Pleasant pick? Dude's got some amazing measurables (4.4 40, best squat among the LBs) and he was a great scout team player last year as a frosh
