It also says how James is likely to be just held out of contact during the spring. I hope that lays all of the "he's out til the ladder half of next season" to rest.

Good for them, they can work on their speed and fitness! I wonder how they will do?

And the fast keep getting faster....We hope anyway. I think that they will do good and Oregon has an awesome track program as we know.

Lananna seems set on a Nat'l title run, or 3, of his own...

What specific events are they doing? I'm guessing Holland will sprint, but any idea what James will do?

James will probably do sprinting. I am always surprised about the lack of xc and track enthusiasts on these boards. I love it. Jamere Holland will run the 200 i'm almost sure. James would make sense as a sprinter, but maybe LJ or something else.

Great conditioning for them in the off season. Makes you that much more competitive. Excellent choice.

It's not often a RB is fast enough to be a sprinter on one of the top track programs in the country. Obviously the kid has legit speed.

Yeah, LaMichael's superior speed and home run threat capability is why Rivals had him rated ahead of Jizz Rodgers last year.

Don't be surprised to see another receiver, Dion Jordan, getting a long look from the track team as well. He was a decent hurdler (300m and 110m) in HS.

James won the 100 meters at the Texas state track meet in 2006 with a time of 10.51.

As for Jamere Holland? Attended Taft High where he ran track and played football...Won the California state 100m and 200m in 2005 and placed second in the 100m in 2006... PRs of 10.36 in the 100m and 20.92 in the 200m.

I think they will find a way to contribute.
