Roper to Montana

Post by UOducksTK1 »

We've been hearing this for a while, but looks like it's practically a done deal.

Good luck to Roper!

Well, it was either play 1 year at a D-1A school that you may or may not win the job at, or drop down and pretty much be guaranteed a job at a highly successful AA school that produces a lot of NFL prospects.

Plus, he doesn't have to sit out a year if he goes to Montana. He would only have 1 year to play in D1-A.

More like "Let's Make A Deal"... "Do you want what's behind the curtaiin where Carole is standing, or what's in the box?"

It's all unknowns, until he gets on the field.

Good luck to him!

Good grief... If Justin had 2 full years to use at an FBS level institution, he might have ended up someplace that really needs a QB, like K-State, Wazzu, or U-W!

Best of luck to him.
The kid wants to play and I can't find fault in that; was expecting him to sign on with an eastern school where I thought he might get some exposure, not in the griz' tundra.

It'll be fun to watch the in state battle of Cody Kempt and the Bobcats and Roper and the Grizzlies to see who's the better former Oregon QB

I can see that too. I guess I was thinking more that Montana offers a known regarding playing time and staying at Oregon was the gamble with potentially higher pay-off.
