Receivers hands

I just got done watching the 2001 dvd and I was noticing something special. First of all yes Joey had great touch on the ball and good accuracy, but that is not what impressed me about the passing attach. What I noticed was how great our receivers caught the ball. Everyone from Howry to Willis(sp?) to Peele all had great hands. Every time the ball came near them they were able to reach out and catch the ball in on the hands and bring it to their bodies. This was impressive when the ball was clearly behind them and against their momentum. While we have had great receivers since then I have not seen a group of receivers who I would say had better hands since then. What I wouldn't give to have a group of players like that this year. I bet J. M. would love it too.

I think we have just had way too many drops recently and it has skewed our judgment. Every time I watch another team play, I am always impressed by how well their receivers hold on to the ball. Similar to how you were impressed with our 2001 WR's. I really hope we can get some more consistency this year.

And so it is we wave a goodbye to Coach Pflu. So long, farewell, Auf Weidersehen, goodbye...etc.

Correct, I believe that was his first year coaching the WR's. When he left Coach Pflu took over and our recievers haven't caught anything since

I totally agree, every game I watched last season I couldn't help but notice how "good" the receivers were. One team in particular, Texas Tech... with their passing attack you have to have good receivers, but those guys catch EVERYTHING thrown to them...
I have a feeling this season will be a lot different for us...
