based on an article today on goducks, irvin likely won't be starting in hawaii. sounds like paddon and nogosek have all but clinched spots (as expected), and the final two are a competition between peterson, karraker, and harber. harber is a jc kid who has been impressive in camp, with a supposed electric fastball.

horton announced today that irvin WILL start friday, but likely only go 2-3 innings. needs to build up the arm strength.
it'll be irvin/peterson/paddon/karraker. i'm surprised nogosek didn't get a nod, but he'll be our 8th inning guy.

Neat to see Irvin starting on opening day, albeit only for a few innings most likely.

today's starter for Hawaii is tyler brashears, a jc transfer. good numbers at saddleback cc, but one would expect that. hopefully irvin can go three tonight.
kaeo aliviado is probably their best player. he's a four year starter in the OF, most here probably recognize the name. we play him every year and all.
so stoked for baseball. opening day > football opener.

It's early, but Irvin looked great in the first two innings.
Ducks lead 2-0 going into the top of the 3rd.
