DT prospects
So how is our endless search for DT's going?
Up on rivals it says Justin Brown's stock is blowing up and he may visit. GOOD! What about that Tuihalamaka kid? Did I hear rumblings about Akiem Hicks as well? Is there anyone else we are making a push for?
If we can land one more solid player (mentioned above) we'll be in pretty decent shape. Not great but enough to hold us over until next year.

Stewart Mandel-"From a purely aesthetic standpoint, I much prefer to watch a good spread-rushing offense over a traditional Power-I offense, and Oregon's has been the most fun by far for the past several years. It's fast, its precise, and when Chip Kelly has the right quarterback (Dixon, Masoli) at the helm, the possibility of someone ripping off a 60-yard run exists on nearly every play."

Re: DT prospects
Right now we're so think I'd take a few warm bodies just to fill the position. Is it too late to kiss and make up with Miles Wade?
The Ducks need to hurry up and close on this guy for 2010.....

Re: DT prospects
re, Uko, from a Rivals article... :
"The DL MVP went to sophomore George Uko of Don Lugo High School. Uko (6 feet 3 1/2 and 283 pounds) is an absolute powerhouse and is destined to be a DI defensive tackle. He also has a 100" reach, 5.21 40, 5.19 shuttle, 21-inch vertical, and 15 reps on 185 pounds."
Sounds a little on the slow side, and 15 reps on 185 lbs isn't that great.

SPeaking of DT's. It appears we may need all the live bodies we can get. I have 4years of eligibilty. I am 6'6" and 340. I think I can be in game shape by spring...lol. I would need to get a waiver from the NCAA since I am already graduated.

Only if there is a ball involved...football, basketball, paintball. Running for the sake of running? I would rather light my midsection on fire.bigsugarduck wrote:you are a big boy!![]()

Re: DT prospects
Of the known DTs out there, Sione Tuihalamaka is supposed to trip the 23rd. Justin Brown is hearing from us, but hasn't decided if he'll visit or not. He's at CU this weekend. Our chances are pretty slim for him. The Netherlands kid from Idaho (Tjong-A-Tjoe) was suppsoed to be a visitor last weekend according Talefeathers, but there's neen no story on him. Akiem Hicks committed to LSU and we're out of it for him. Dequin Evans has the weight to possibly play DT, but right now no one is sure where we stand or even if he's tripping.

Re: DT prospects
With his combination of size and speed, Evans could be a monster in the right Defense as a DT...
