“You heard me for two days trying to get those guys to stay off the ground, and then we finally got the pads on,” UO coach Chip Kelly said. “Especially for the O line and D line, they’ve been kind of cooperating for two days, but today they got a chance to come off the ball and hit each other. You finally get to see what you’ve got with your guys up front. It was good; good work.

“They’ve been pretty intense for both days. But it cranked up a little bit, a little bit more heated, which was good.”

Jeff Maehl, Tyrece Gaines and Diante Jackson are all nursing knee injuries.
