utah (3-10) isn't very good, so hopefully we can take advantage and get back on the right foot.
horton made some changes at the end of the miss state series, moving patzlaff up into the 2-hole and susnara up to the 4. susnara should provide much better protection for balta. after that, it's a total crap shoot. no one else is hitting. we'll see.

Oregon down 3-1 in the 9th. Horton needs to find a way to get more consistent hitting as this is just sad.

unless he can start getting hitters Horton may have to go

But he does get good hitters from high school to come. Moniot, Goldfarb, Grebeck, etc hit over .400 in high school in good competitions.
They just end up sucking when they get in this all pitching system.

Ducks win game 2 9-5 despite Krook getting hammered again. But the bats awoke finally

Same Crap ducks lose 2-0 as they get only 3 hits. I have a feeling it's going to be a long year

yep. we've never been a run factory but it's never been this bad. i see a team with absolutely no clue at the plate. it's amazing how so many at bats begin 0-2, and how so many innings start with a quick two outs.

It's amazing that Oregon's coaches still can't find enough hitters to give them a semi-decent offense. Beginning to wonder if maybe they need to change the way they recruit or possibly the team needs a coaching shake-up.

wasikowski might be shown the door but it's ironic because nobody we replace him with will be as highly sought after as wasikowski was when we plucked him from arizona.
as for replacing horton, checketts is the obvious choice but we've also beaten him thoroughly the last two seasons with very mediocre teams. i don't know how vigorous a national search the AD will want to go on for a non revenue sport.

Yes the hitters look as bad as they were during the first year of reinstatement.
No one is willing to say it, but maybe Horton really is in the hot seat right now.
The program has been dull for years and underachieved even when they were nationally seeded.
Unless this is the fit that the Athletic Directors want, then it wouldn't make sense with the excitement of just about every other sport on campus.

Welcome to Ducks Attack!
With the talent we have at our starting rotation, we should definitely be playing better. I've never really liked Horton's small ball game. I mean winning on a suicide squeeze is fun, but for the most part we haven't been able to get over the hump at all. I think Horton is somewhat on the hot seat, but for me I'd still give him this season and next season to salvage things before discussing a coaching change.
