Pac-10 preview on ESPN
With Brent Musburger and Herbie. No mention of oregon being even a possible contender, it's all SC and Cal in their minds.

I like that their example of the best Pac-10 game is USC versus Ohio State .... ummmm, Ohio State isn't in the Pac-10 you idiots.

That video has been up for a few days and I wanted to punch all of them in the nose after watching it. Maybe if a few of these guys would actually get out of a press room and watch some camp action, they may get a clue.

I prefer to serve Crow as 3 day old, festering road kill, marinated in the sweltering sun.
It will be a tasty dish to serve these guys when GameDay comes calling!

Notice Oregon is not in their top 20 teams for the rank and file? Damn you Phil Steele, damn you. As soon as his publication came out, Oregon started dropping in the polls and then Cal gets all the love. Hopefully it won't take long for them all to eat crow and recognize Oregon should not have been overlooked.
I guess the good part about it is that when Chip Kelly goes 11-1 or 12-0 in his first season, he will get a good look at Pac 10 coach of the year. I can just see Sarkisian winning 5 games and getting the nod.
"Well they finished 8th instead of last, must be a great coach."
With MB always getting overlooked by programs that are crawling out of the toilet, it would be nice to get some recognition for good coaching when it happens.

Re: Pac-10 preview on ESPN
I think that the one of the biggest mistakes the Pac-10 made was never having Bellotti as Coach of the Year. He won 10 games in a year 3 times, won 2 Pac-10 titles, won a BCS game, and became the all-time winningest coach at Oregon. I still believe that it had to do with some of the coaches being petty and holding grudges against Bellotti (i.e. Tedford & Carroll.)spinseeker wrote:Notice Oregon is not in their top 20 teams for the rank and file? Re: Pac-10 preview on ESPN
Kirk just has an agenda against us ever since he picked us to win the Pac-10 in 2002 and we faltered down the 2nd half of the season.

Even when we beat the Shetland Ponies we will not get any love until we beat Cal, then ESPN has to eat crow for pre-crowning the USC v. Cal as the game of the year.

Re: Pac-10 preview on ESPN
Sorry to say it but some of guys sound a little petty over Herbie and ESPN. Over the years Herbie and crew has given us plenty of visibility and love. Our team has some issues to be resolved. On paper I don't think we are a top ten team either, maybe closer to 15-20. Given what we lost from last year and the defections in the offseason we have some holes to fill. Sure we have a qb which is very important to success and we have Kelly in charge but our expectations are probably a little too high for this season, afterall allowalati is still the defensive coordinator and until there is evidence that Kelly is improving his coaching we shouldn't assume anything but what we have gotten out of him for the last 15 years. For us to win 10 games our offense will have to be dominant.

Agree on herbie... He has been good to the Ducks even saying he wanted to move his family to Eugene.

Not necessarily,
I think the Defense is really going to surprise people.
