Complete denial on the Scout Michigan board. The only thread on the subject starts...
"Sorry guys, a couple of us moderators got crossed up and the thread ended up getting deleted.
Here is Tom's take...keep all comments here please.
-------------------------------------------------- ---------
The specific allegations, from what I can see, are that:
-- U-M Quality Control people were monitoring the voluntary workouts this summer.
-- more than 4 required-hours were put in on Sundays last year.
The problems with the allegations are:
-- the Freep, like the old A2 News before them, has seemingly (and evidently) been writing this type of critical story about Michigan sports for years, preceding RR as well.
-- we know that some of the guys who've left the program recently have volunteered that they were 'disgruntled' and have used the 'family values code' ... so there are ready targets for the press to corral ... this is even true for some guys still in the program.
Michigan has a full-blown Compliance Dept of course, and this would be one of the most obvious general areas for them to be monitoring ... it's hard to believe this '500 pound gorilla' type thing would be missed."

It's the medias fault.
